  1. Ours had dropped to $0.749 CAD yesterday Tilly, crazy times, r u still on the island?
  2. Some spots round here you would risk getting taxed at gunpoint, and the coppers won't be any help or do f**k all if they find out u were on a reservation. Everyone is equal in Canada, it's just some are a lot more equal than the rest.....
  3. $0.81 Canadian here at the minute, dropped from around 0.97

  8. I think with fixed blade kitchen knives you should be fine, but i would maybe have a check on what is currently prohibited before posting them Socks, (or have them well insured!). There was a lot of news over here regarding knife seizures at the beginning of the year, but I think it was folders that could be opened with 1 hand. Pretty much any folder posted from outside Canada was stopped and destroyed apparently.... I will drop u a PM
  9. I have 2 honda quads, (a 2006 low hr / mileage 350 and a 2002 400 with just over 6000km). Most of the lads I hunt with have hondas as well . Couple of my mates have 1998 / 1999 machines with over 20,000km on them, and they are still going strong, and they have had pretty hard lives, all the km is off road pulling trailers etc, but they have been well maintained. All are foot shit not auto. None have us have every been left stranded on one (touch wood), but have had to limp out occasionally with stripped axles etc. I bought the 2006 350 this spring with only 500km on it, and was worried the la
  10. I had a td5 disco, it was the worst vehicle I have ever had, (and I have had a few). Injector issues, suspension issues, sunroof issues, then head gasket went.....
  11. Fair play Ted that will be spot on those minus 25 days when it blowing a gale ?I took my boys and there mate out camping / quaking a couple of weeks ago to the area we usually hunt. Seen a few deer and moose sign about but more bear than anything and much more than I have seen in the area before, hopefully doesnt effect the deer and moose numbers to much....
  12. As mentioned above I would say get yourself a shorter (traditional) net and practice dropping and picking it up in the daylight. Ferreting season will soon come around and is a good way to build confidence in handling a net. Once you feel ok during the day, give it a go at night!
  13. Great, well built boats the bonwitcos ?
  14. I used to do a bit with a pushnet off the shore Terry. I never used to bother on the smallest tides, but never noticed much difference (from memory) on mid size tides and up. It could be a pain and hard work when there was even a slight surf on my local beaches with the waves taking the net, some days you would get loads in close, (less than a foot deep) other days they would be deeper / further out. Watch out for weavers when u are sorting u catch, the small ones can be a nightmare to spot. I used to use them for bait for wrasse off the rocks (as well as eating them), they keep easily in a bu
