    Yet to have a FB account! What they would want with live rabbits I don’t know. I get it with the gun dog trainers but wouldn’t be part of it myself. I don’t take great numbers anyway.

    Wouldn’t surprise me. Both ends of the deal could get into trouble for moving them I reckon. Advertising the fact on FB or the internet probably isn’t the best idea!

    I think moving them from one place to another is illegal. Is it not so they can break them to rabbits? Not sure how much they would pay for them either. The only way they can be getting hold of them is live traps or nets.

    True Penda. This is my old mans line of work. A few years back it was all shepherds for guarding/protection type work. Now it’s all tracking/search/cadaver work. He has trained 2 shepherds this year for search but people prefer to see spaniels and labs doing that type of work. The shepherds he sent overseas weren’t lacking in anything. I would have one for a guard anytime!

    I know you probably can’t put an exact amount on it but how much a month do you reckon it costs per dog? Changing it as often as you should etc.

    Sorry mucka didn’t mean to sound like I was having a dig. I suppose if you were trying for top performance then weighing would be important. I just hack it up/mix it up and chuck it in the freezer!

    Never have weighed dog food. Don’t know the weight of my dogs either! I just gauge by the way they look and the amount of exercise or work I’m putting their way.

    I think we get a bit caught up in this. I don’t give supplements personally as I think the stuff they need is in the food. Some people add things like bone builder, vitamins etc if they can’t get hold of certain things. There’s plenty of info online and everyone has different opinions. I’m lucky as I get plenty off the butcher. It took a while of asking different places but it’s paid off. Between the butchers, table scraps and what the dogs catch we do ok.     People will pay it if that’s their thing. The barf companies market their food and people who can afford it will buy it. That’s fine but I couldn’t afford that. I just don’t get when they put ‘special ingredients’ or ‘complete’ foods for working dogs. It’s a sales pitch. But people struggle to get stuff from their butchers so what’s their alternative other than dry food!!

    It’s prob the same as most people who feed raw on here. Only difference is that it has been finely minced and put in a bit of posh packaging. Anything between £2.50-£3.80 a Kg. There’s a big market for it now! It’s no doubt better quality than some other suppliers. I prefer to see the dogs chewing and crunching. I know minced works for a lot of people who don’t like the hassle or for ease of storage. Just think it would work out pretty expensive!

    Same with her brother. He just seems to keep going! Hoping to get him out on lots of different ground and terrain this season. Would like to get him out with a decent bushing pack and see how he does. At the moment he’s the only busher in our group. Trying to persuade Newkid to get another!! ?

    Sad times ahead but if all other avenues have been explored then sometimes you got to do the right thing. Might help a bit if you know his breeding and also put up some pics. Hope he finds a good home.
