  1. Got to keep you sweet. Wouldn’t mind a walk out on that picturesque mouching ground ?
  2. Sorry mucka didn’t mean to sound like I was having a dig. I suppose if you were trying for top performance then weighing would be important. I just hack it up/mix it up and chuck it in the freezer!
  3. Never have weighed dog food. Don’t know the weight of my dogs either! I just gauge by the way they look and the amount of exercise or work I’m putting their way.
  4. I think we get a bit caught up in this. I don’t give supplements personally as I think the stuff they need is in the food. Some people add things like bone builder, vitamins etc if they can’t get hold of certain things. There’s plenty of info online and everyone has different opinions. I’m lucky as I get plenty off the butcher. It took a while of asking different places but it’s paid off. Between the butchers, table scraps and what the dogs catch we do ok. Plenty of dogs out there live a hard working life fed on rubbish. Look at what your average farm dog is fed on! Some working dogs see nothi
  5. Got a bit of work on over there next year so hoping to get out and see them first hand.
  6. Said from the first pictures, he would have been my choice. Good luck with him.
  7. As said mate. Don’t take their word for it. Find out what kennels the wardens take the dogs and go and have a look. ATB with it all.
  8. Nice. Looks like it’s had a good start in life. Healthy looking pup.
  9. Exciting times ahead mate. What cross?
  10. Cracking pups mate. Like the black and white one in the top picture. ATB with them ?
  11. People will pay it if that’s their thing. The barf companies market their food and people who can afford it will buy it. That’s fine but I couldn’t afford that. I just don’t get when they put ‘special ingredients’ or ‘complete’ foods for working dogs. It’s a sales pitch. But people struggle to get stuff from their butchers so what’s their alternative other than dry food!!
  12. It’s prob the same as most people who feed raw on here. Only difference is that it has been finely minced and put in a bit of posh packaging. Anything between £2.50-£3.80 a Kg. There’s a big market for it now! It’s no doubt better quality than some other suppliers. I prefer to see the dogs chewing and crunching. I know minced works for a lot of people who don’t like the hassle or for ease of storage. Just think it would work out pretty expensive!
  13. Same with her brother. He just seems to keep going! Hoping to get him out on lots of different ground and terrain this season. Would like to get him out with a decent bushing pack and see how he does. At the moment he’s the only busher in our group. Trying to persuade Newkid to get another!! ?
  14. Sad times ahead but if all other avenues have been explored then sometimes you got to do the right thing. Might help a bit if you know his breeding and also put up some pics. Hope he finds a good home.
  15. Cracking pictures there mate. Looks like a brilliant day out. On the hills is definitely my favourite type of hunting.
  16. Glad to see you back on here. Really enjoy reading your posts. Exciting times ahead too with your new pup. They should be just the job. Does the bull grey hunt up in the hills too?
  17. Must be the quality grub you are feeding her ?
  18. Happy days Sean. Will wait to hear
  19. Brilliant. Will be getting my lads out in a week or so. ATB
  20. Might be able to help out mate. I’m heading up to Newcastle in a week or so. If someone can get him across to Bristol I can take him North from there and arrange somewhere for you to collect him on route. Let me know ?
  21. Would like to have this cross or very similar for my next lurcher.
  22. Cheers DC. Like you say, not for everyone but for some people they would be just the job. Type of hunting I would like to get into when I have more time.
  23. Anyway.........back to the topic! I have thought about this type of cross for hunting in the hills but I think they are not that common. The dogs that DC bred look spot on. How would they be for all round lurcher work? Lamping etc. Wouldn’t question the stamina but what about speed? Would too much hound risk them giving a bit of voice?
  24. He’s a strong looking dog. What cross was the bitch he went across micheala?
