What for instance if the fox decided he was not in a hurry to bolt,would the bitch stay with him or come away,not picking as you probab;ly had loads of foxs with her in double quick time but if she moved with her fox and it didnt bolt how were you going to dig to her as each time you wpould come close the fox would surely put more presure on and the bitch would move with it again,as said a handy tool for bolting but for the long haul maybe not.

must be good foxes you have there fm, not like these pet one's going round. I remember 1 day years ago while out ferreting with a couple of mates.We were about half a mile away from a local radio station and had just started to do a nice clean bank with a few nice holes in it.We worked our way up along the bank picking up a few rabbits on the way[all bolters].We then seen at least a dozen rabbits run into a big burrow in the middle of the field,no problem as a few days earlier we had between us purchased a locater and collar,old knocker box.We entered 2 ferrets in this place at different spots and had a long net set around the burrow.Well after what seemed an age 1 ra

Seen a fox enter a smallish lake and swin across it under pressure from hounds and a couple of lurchers.They had hunted him around the side of the lake 3 times and each time he made a run for the land he was sliped on with lurchers and in the end the hounds were closing in on him fast so he took to the water with hounds and 2 lurchers on his arse,he made good his escape on the far side running the reeds and crossing a road into more cover,lake was about 100yds in width.

Im sure if he done a bit of homework on the bitch he would come up trumps with a suitable stud dog and leave the untried dog until further down the road when its proved itself.Did he mention what age the bitch is and what she has done,not going to read all these posts again,lol.

Ted was used quite a lot over bitchs but AC did not breed him,AC bred his father Nigger.That is correct TP bread ted but is it not also correct that AC himself brought bitches to ted for the service?????We will let AC answer that one himself,but i doubt it as i reckon he had enough stud dogs of his own.no bother fat man I just said I'd ask as I have some stuff related to the dogs in question and you seem to no a lot about what AC does!! And from reading a lot of your posts on here I was thinking that you new everything :) But maybe you Don't??????be a very boring life if we all knew everythin

You are correct Pablo,a hell of a lot of men breeding for £££££££££££££ but some are using AC on the price tag.

Maybe he just looked the part and people thought they knew the way he was bred,a lot of stuff got the AC tag put on it but AC did not breed them same as a lot of terriers of today,lads are saying there AC bred but in reality there not.

Nigger was bred by AC and left in Eire after a wknds digging in the midlands for obvious reasons.He was then worked for a long time by the men who AC left him with and eventually they sold the dog to TP for breeding.

Neil i would not say he destroyed the line as he only had a small portion of it if its the same man im thinking of,the line is still very strong and will be because of the men who have it.He was always a ££££££ man and always will be,even more so when he got his half hour of fame on the telly.

Yes Taz but then your talking of breeding a bitch that is 7 or at least heading for 7 year old,you then have to wait another 14-18 months to see what you have and if the mating dont work out your sort of f****d as your bitch is then heading on 9 year old and geting a bit long in the tooth for breeding from imo.A decent bitch from decent lines you should know exactly what you have after a couple of good seasons,ive always maintained good bitchs are harder to find than good dogs so better to be looking at a litter on the ground,keep whatever you need for yourself and surplus gift to your digging

I get it hard to hear my digging mate talking to me at an earth let alone sound a terrier,but id like to think i could still go about it if needs must,lol hank f**k for technology.

Seen plenty of good badger dogs [pre-ban] that you could also dig fox with,rule was if something was at home you dug it,but ive also seen plenty of fox dogs that no way would you dig bigger game with,would not entertain the grey lad.I also seen and know of lads that would start there young dogs on badger in order to try and brake them from entering to them,like has been said a hundred times people have different standards and nowadays in uk and ireland a terrier cannot be really tested to its ability because of the laws that are here,not like pre-ban.

I think it depends on what some would class as making the grade,everyone has different standards and keep different types of workers as in the way terriers work there game.If you breed a terrier that enters easily stays until dug no matter what the situation and continues to do so each season then i reckon it has made the grade no matter what ts work style may be,jmho.
