  2. Used to be a shed with the small square bales in it just over the road a bit from me and we got a good few fox from it down the years then they knocked it to build a house so that was that. There is an orchard where i hunt and its walls are covered in ivy and it holds fox regulary. Then we have an old house with an earth within it.The entrance is in the face of an open fire place and it can be dug in either of the rooms thats in it,just a matter of breaking the flag stone of the floor and about a ft diging and your in,there is also an earth in 1 of the sheds surrunding the house, very hany shall

  4. Had a very good dog a few year back, dead now[Rusty]very hard dog at his work and took no prisoners,he was 3/4 lakie1/4 wheaten, actually have a grandson of his here at the moment.
  5. Great to get the 1st dig into the youngsters and 3.8 was a good dig for any terrier let alone a young dog.We had a dig ourselves last saturday morn to a dog my mate was gifted. He just back from usa end of last season and back into the dogs again now after been away for 16-17 years.Through a mate of mine we got him fixed up with a working dog and also a pup both gifted. We tried the dog anyway on saturdat and had a nice dig to him with 3 in front of him when we broke through so fair play to the chap that gifted him.
  6. Could nobody get a reg number
  7. I would'nt even mention the 2 of them in the same sentence, the Wheaten is a far far superior working terrier and has been proven so right down through the years.
  8. Good strong bold looking pup for 4 months, like the look of him.
  9. What would be the consistency in litters work wise as i have seen several of that type down the years and the % of workers as to non-workers is very low or they been too big for earth work.Dont get me wrong i have seen some real good working terriers fron this type but some are way way too big and the difference in some litters was unbelievable, from small tidy digging dogs to out and out monsters with the will to work but size would not allow them.I have also seen and been told of these biggish terriers that dig in so tight that they eventually block off there own air supply and the rest is hi
  10. Jason Donovan in a little cafe just up from bbc studios in shepards bush in 1989,2 massive body guards along with him but he was all chat to all that wanted to chat with him,Bono and the lads before there concert in Slane while we were doing the scaffolding for the stage and other towers.
  11. The ebt r5eally comes through on the terrier on the left of the pic, very like the 1 i had years back.
  12. Many years ago when i lived in a different area we once dug 2 different litters in the same earth. The terrier we were using back then was belonging to a mate of mine and a complete sounder. We dug to her 1st with 4 cubs still black in colour and soon as we broke through the little bitch moved back and we could then hear her baying away about 15 ft away.We left the cubs for now and again dug to the bitch this time with 5 cubs about 4-5 wks old and way bigger then the 1st lot.We tidied up the earth puting the roof back on both digs and leaving the cubs so as the vixon would come back to them.As w
  13. 0lenty of shit talked about white dogs though, lol.
  14. honestly didn't think it was that bad, my sprockers get worse on their morning walk ,I'll delete if it causes offence fat man Causing no offence to me WJ but to others maybe, you know yourself what certain people would do with a pic like it,add a protected animal to it and what have you got? PS nice dog by the way,a mate not far from me keeps that type.
  15. No offence but is there really any need to put up pics like that on an open forum, the dog would look a lot better if cleaned up a touch.
  16. I took my 2 labs and the springer down to the local lake last wk for a bit of a swim about just to cool them down and get the lab pup some swimming training done.I was throwing in the dummy for the pup and the bitch and the springer was actually hunting the hell out of a ditch that held plenty of rabbits so i left her to it.I threw the dummy in 1 direction for the pup and then a stick in the other for the pups mother.I was consentrating on the pup and not the bitch and when the pup returned with the dummy i turned to see the bitch was about 200yds out in the lake and still going.I whistled her
  17. Dont mind them D,you are looking great for 60,lol.
  18. It also depends on if you are given the proper ped in the 1st place.
  19. I agree the white so called cork dogs that i have seen in the last number of years are much bigger dogs. There is a chap not too far from me that runs this line of dogs on for other lads and i have dug over a few of these, some good some useless some middle of the road so to speak but the size variation is unreal, from diggable terriers to monsters and in theory it could not be any different with the breedinf thats in them as not all will throw to the russell.I was speaking with 2 lads from cork recently and both said that the dogs have gone up in size big time and these lads keep the white dogs
  20. Yeah and some of them are supposed to be well respected terrier men,but some just get a buzz out of sticking up pics of broken up terriers with game.
  21. Try and get them around kids of a responsible age that will play with them without frighting them worse and also a 3rd party dog that is friendly with dogs and kids will give the other 2 confidence to be stroked and played with.
  22. Tar and feather the b*****ds 1st then tie them where all can see them with a placard beside them saying why it had happened to them, others might just think twice about doing the same.
  23. Ye let Cromwell walk all over ye in Meath but we stoped him in W-Meath and sent him back to England with his tail between his legs, lol.
  24. Might be ugly but still produce the best terriers in the county,as for the other end of it MEATH,well what can i say,we were delighted to split with ye.
  25. Funny as f**k this thread,a SHOW US YOUR PATTERDALES and it ends up with lads wanting to strangle each other, lol
