  1. I have had one go off nearby me while setting others, deepest about a foot and half in sand, most memorable was the first I cought in scissor trap took ages before I caught one in them, couldnt seem to get them right, still wont use them, although the talpex is very good I use those,
  2. Start feeding the pond in august, twice a week, make sure theres as little vermin around as possible, continue feeding throughout season, shooting once a fortnight, you dont need alot of food as such, but spread it around the edge's so the birds cant stand in one spot feeding,I like to use a bag of split maize once and a while,as you can see it on the botttom of the pond, and helps you gauge how much feed is going, some ponds flight better on the morning flight, than the night flight sit at dawn and see what come's in, flight ponds are easy to get going, but the birds need to feel safe when they are
  3. I just hope some one checked the cockaleeky soup,
  4. sorry mate,I havnt got a clue cracking looking dog though
  5. There are somethings you have to go to the vet for there's no getting away from that, but alot of vets milk there clients without a doubt,I have dog's and horses and to be honest I have been stung enough,at the moment though I have a good vet who I changed to last yr,and I am happy with, he looks after all my dog's but I am from the old school as well,If I think its serious enough then vet's without delay, the dogs are too valuable to me to risk, however I am not averse to dressing a wound myself, and you will be suprised what a good clean up and a dab with jenson and violet will sort along with
  6. They are a load of idiots who destroy the principles of justice, ie Impartiality how can anyone put forward a fair and sound case, with out iimpartiality like the nuts who all ran into parliament voting to ban hunting in the first place, saying they thought it was cruel, by there own statement they are not impartial, in my veiw this ban on hunting will allways be illegal, when ever there's any comment on culling animals,or restrictions to hunting they should present there case and leave, they should never be allowed to prosecute people,it should always go before the cps from the police, that is th
  7. I dont get on with 22.250's for years I used 222 and never had a problem,I now use 223 as an upgrade to my 222 I love the round,52 grn hollow point stuf's them no problem,as for range I heve done them out to 250 yds,the skill lies in geting them close, some ground you can do them at long ranges as the backstop is to die for, look at the ground you are shooting,go around your nearest gun shops see which ammo is heavily stocked, that will tell you what the locals are useing, and give you some indication of availability,I prefer 223 myself and still say I shouldnt have sold my 222 it will boil down
  8. How the hell can our police let that happen, its disgracefull what would happen if we did that we would all be in a cell by tea time, they simply are not protecting the public from that crap, top marks to the woman doing the video she stood up for herself, although it didnt play right till the end for me,
  9. yes mate i think so , although i got a feeling the bit what clips on rim might be some other metal ?? still be ok you just have to fish it out the melting pot Cheers will try in summer
  10. Mans a top bloke, his actions speak volumes not like the politicians keep up the good work Harry
  11. I agree about supporting british businesses, for me its not about saving a bob,I do think sometimes that english traders work on very high markups, which in some cases is nothing but greedy, thats my opinion,I like to mess and try different traps,I know to a proffessional mole catcther its unproductive time, but thats how I find the best method for me,I wouldnt mind seeing how they do things in regards to catching moles on the continent, I like to learn,as regards the import I seem to remember a piece on here which eventually spoke about buying rifle scopes from abroad, and the outcome was no impo
  12. I wish we could they look a stronger trap and at two euros well worth it, I had mine bought, for me I did a favour and wouldn't take money for it,it would be nice to find a way to get them sent over,
  13. spot on, Some times you find the run end, and rather than ignore it I put a nomol in thats all, just my way I am not perfect by no means but it works,my old man and a local farmer taught me where I grew up,I did it for a fare few yrs then stopped,I re started about five yrs ago,and all they taught me still work's I dont advertise its all by word of mouth, and I have plenty to do,
  14. Has anyone tried trapman traps, he does some professional ones when you go on his site, which he claims are made stronge and of better steel,he sells them in packs of 25 and 100 I want to buy a load to build my stock up, and dont know if I should buy from him or not has anyone used him before ????????????????
  15. There not shouting about there exploits with the bolt gun and alsatians though are they, who's taking them to court ????????????????????????
  16. I must admit I do use other traps, but the duffus style is my first choice, it will catch anywhere, although the trap quality varies massively, and you have to choose your supplier carefully,
  17. No you are not missing anything, for my money they are no better, than the tunnel / duffus trap and if you dont get the trigger disc the right distance from the jaw end, the mole gets caught too far back and turns around in the trap to face the other way, and the trap becomes hard to remove, but do they catch yes they do and well, once you are proficient with them, like I say I use them in run ends, or if I dig into a three way run, I will use the tunnel trap in the straightest part and put one of them up the third run and it works well, or if I get a mole thats filling traps some times they will e
  18. I like them for run ends, they are good but time consuming as with the tunnel traps you can walk along and check them, with the nomol you have to get down and check them, I carry a few all the time they are good traps, but the tunnel traps are more productive from a time point of veiw in my opinion,
  19. What kind of money are those lazer's and what kind of ranges are best for them buster321
  20. At the end of the day they are born and bred to run, thats there purpose in life, to have them wrapped in cotton wool is cruel, they are hunting dogs not emoitional teddy bears, we owe it to them to full fill there lives as best we can, they serve us as best they can,I would not be happy if my lad got killed or had to retire him early through injury, but life goes on,I would be happy knowing he had a productive and interesting life, instead of being sat in a kennel bored shitless or pampered to the point of stupidity,
