  2. jeesus can't mole catchers get on ????? probuck wind your neck in, you didnt invent mole catching, some of these guy's do it proffesionally and I mean on a large scale, learn from them, why are people on here so antaganistic, it makes me wonder sometimes if we are all in the same game,
  3. How's dewsbury,seem's long time since I was there
  4. I do something similar just roll soil into a small ball place it under trigger bar, and the fill in with loose soil around trap job done,
  5. I like them as you can catch two a time, easy to set, quick to set, easy to check,I use talpex as well but not very often,I like them in soft ground, the other thing about barrel trap, is there's not as much showing above the ground,if some one wants to nick them they have to walk around and find them, where as the claw trap can be seen from a fair distance,I dont particularly get on with claw traps,no idea why, although I am determined to sort that, other traps like nomol or trapline are good I do carry some but rarely use them,as they are not as quick /easy/ or conveinient to check as barrel or t
  6. Thats low the dirty b*****ds,we need to find who's doing this, get there faces in every paper, outcast them, makes me sick to the core,
  7. I agree, What will bother me is if he was out on license, or had several prior offences he should be doing time for, but for some stupid human right do-gooder reason is out walking the streets,a time bomb waiting to happen on innocent people who have paid there taxes and dues,he may probably have been locked up by police before,They talk about gun crime, but how many people are killed a year, stabbed, strangled, beat to death in their own house,by people who 50 yr ago would swing and be done with, job done innocents protected,
  8. Let him grow lapin2008 is giving good advice for a dog the age of yours, you wont regret it
  9. I agree with alot of that, but some people buy as status symbols as well, but then if they are in a position to put the best on there guns, then thats fine, but for every rabbit shot with a top end scope, there's hundreds if not thousands shot with a run of the mill workhorse, and you rarely see detailed indepth reveiw's of cheap scopes say £200 and below,I often wonder what the sales percentages in numbers of cheap to expensive scopes, and some times wonder if the big companies could be missing a chance, to allso dominate the cheaper end of the scope market,if you look at our american counterpart
  10. Hi mate as you know I have pm you, I was on nights and unable to reply sorry for that, and I can see ruby16 has pm you so thats fine,I am not the type to run around stepping on toes, I am only looking for a project either mercury or airsporter, and I know the rules of the forum, again if ruby16 for any reason decides he is not interested then I will have it no bother,I am in carlisle, I did this as well as pm you so my interest is clear and not vague like the previous, post I did thanks for the reply Darren
  11. let me know if it doesent sell mate,
  12. Sit out on him, by now you will know his general route, and timings do your home work, sit and wait with the wind in your face, although you are in to the breeding season,is he doing any damage?would it be wise to leave him till crops come down,it can sometimes be bad to remove the devil you know,as he will keep the ones you dont know out of his teritory, having said that if you got a farmer about to lamb he will want it gone, allso the keeper will be glad to see him downed,
  13. This started off as a young potential mole trapper, sharing his experiences and ended up a s**t storm,we need to nuture new starts,in every way possible if people have dreams of doing it proffesionaly,' why not 'as in most things the realities of doing it full time soon make the enthusiasm fade, and the ones who are serious and motivated and driven, push through and make a career out of it like MATT,and I hope Tom but for the boys sake lets keep it light hearted, encourage him where we can, and try and keep him on the right side of the tracks, lead by example not manage by exception, god knows wha
  14. It certainly does happen, and thats the thing about niko and hawke, they are reasonably sturdy tool for a dirty job, and cheap enought to replace if you do screw one up,and lets face it you feel a lot happier laying one of them on the ground, while you check your mole traps, than a swaro or zeise,
  15. 270 is a spot on caliber, although I use my 6.5x55 I got rid of mine two yr ago they are virtually the same 270 has the edge, but I have had 6.5x55 for a long time and love the caliber,I know the caliber well it if that makes sense, but you wont find a job the 270 wont do, and do well in england good to load for, reliable acurate round and the recoil isnt that bad at all,you very quickly get used to it,good luck with it I hope you enjoy the gun,
  16. In cumbria mate, but a fair way from whitehaven, welcome to the site,
  17. You wont go wrong with the flatpack company mate, and to be honest there standard galv trap are cheap enough and are spot on. good luck keep it up,
  18. Now there's a thought! Nearly all cameras on smartphones are so cheap and small that they don't have Infrared filters on, making them able to see IR light. You may well find that if you get yourself a decent IR torch this might actually work! Deffo worth a try I reckon! *wanders off to the shed to find the superglue and a phonecase.......* Jim spot on jim let us know how you get on
  19. I have one on my 17hmr cant fault it,I allso have the 3x9x40 on my .22 rimfire,no problems for a cheap scope they do the trick,
  20. Bloody hell what next, all you need is a night vision iphone, and you have cracked it, all bases covered that gun had some recoil as well,
  21. lets just pray it goes ahead, without the shit that went off last yr
