    The only advantage as far as im concerened is maybe the coat on the face.For the coat to be any benfit as regards the weather or brambles,it needs to be heavy then they can get to warm in mild weather. Used to like the rough coats just becouse i liked the look of them,But now would pick a smooth coat every time.Easier to see the shape you have your dog in to.

    Would you breed off a 12 month old pup? no, but you can, and if dogs were in the wild and come in season it would get mated, age wouldnt come into it. dogs dont know how old they are do they. No wild dogs going to live past 8 i wouldnt of thought,Plus in the case of wolves only the alpha female breed,so if it aint strong enough to hold top spot it aint breeding any way.Personally i would push it to8 if the bitch was fit.

    I wouldnt even think of breeding from a bitch till5- 6 to be honest,Iwas asking my vet the other day about breeding from a bitch 6-7 year old first litter he didnt have any problem with it, .

    If your lamping well run rabbits with a small type lurcher buy yourself a lazerlite,better filters,The rabbits are used to being fried by stupidly powerful lights wont even know a lazerlite and red filter is on em,for a while any way.Half the price of the strikers much better built lamp i have one here thats 15 years old you dont need a degree to change any parts in them.Good rabbit lamps.

    What a load of bull,Thats the type of stuff journalists write any one going out for a rabbit without permission is dumping dogs killing sheep? How many shooters have shot at something they knew wasn't on there permission,how many fox hounds have crossed land they are not welcome on. Ihave plenty of permission and after a lot of it being hit by mixie this summer,I went and got a lot more,But just because I'm in a position to do it doesn't make me better than a lad thats out to give his dog a run.I wasn't always so lucky and remember the other side. And maybe your the one thats not a dog man

    I think were ever there are rabbits in numbers lads will be queing up to go when i was young inverness was the mecca,Now its the dales next .... ...... If you have permission it wont make any differance if the poilce clamp down on poachers. Dont see how any lurcher lad can condem another for going for a wonder with intent.
