  1. Not much use for the animals that live in the rain forests though....Sky cat i thought you were going to say cmw had gone out of print
  2. Never seen a wild gos my self,That can be romany`s next mission if he ever comes back from the sparrow hawk....
  3. Think wolves run silent Fox hounds any that dont speak, run faster than the ones that do
  4. Yeah natures cruel,Watched a show ,a pride a lions found a young elephant they Fed on it for hours before it died One wrong decision and your dead. You just have to take it as it is. As for the gosh hawk best looking bird in the world.. If i ever get to old for running around with lurcher's thats what i would go for, think of the amount of phezzies you could kill. Whippet99 something like that
  5. Or the fact that becouse your on perrmission, dosnt stop the rest of the rabbits running when your dog yaps while running one. As for yapping they could probally yap for all the above but they all come back to frustraion at not catching really,Not sure about the injury one you could also add breeding and fitness.I have a dog here and if out bushing with other dogs will let out a yip when she first finds,This can only be a call to the others as she dosnt do it on own.And is quite helpful. What ever the reason a dog that dos it out of habbit is a complete pain in the ass.
  6. I flew one for a season didn't really have the experience though truth be told, found her hard work.....By then though i was totally addicted to the dogs so stopped flying the birds.
  7. Down to frustration,Only take it out on good dark nights slip on easy ones stop on a catch you might stop it.Ive had pups do it in the past normally after catching one or two and been able to stop it from doing that.
  8. A lot do think that, maybe rightly so,Fine line though between control and persecution.Yes paulas see that one alot and seen plenty of evidence of other pigeons shes caught,First time Ive seen her in action though. Always makes my day to see them to be honest especially in a car when they flip over the hedge in front of you before flipping back over a couple of 100 yards further down,You really appreciate then just how fast they travel.
  9. The only time i had a abscess on a ferret was when working a small ferret on rats,When i found her you could see were the rat had been holding her between the shoulder blades,Despite cleaning it it turned into a abscess,I kept using hot water on a cotton wool pad until it acted like a poultice and the abscess burst, then i gave anti biotics don't like giving them until you get most of the puss out,but thats just my way.
  10. Thanks,Shame it wasnt a couple of foot closer could have got a much clearer photo,There again it would help if i got of my arse and cleaned the windows
  11. Just looked out to see this,You cannot see from the picture but through binoculars it looks like a young pigeon about to leave the nest.Parent pigeon is flapping around either injured or pretending to be.If its not per tending it will be ferret food when the hawk has finished her feed.
  12. According to lads on here you cannot even keep 2 dogs together without one eating another ffs
  13. So your saying unless your writing about it on here your not doing it... I have put one or two up for no other reason than i thought i owed it to the site,It takes along time though, and when you come back on to find its been largley ignored you just think why bother. There are other lads on here that if they put a picture up of there dog having a s**t in tha woods you would have 3 pages of what a wonderful s**t it is.
  14. Sounds nice land,I have no land were you could get runs like that its all ferreting or lamp
  15. Your better of ferreting in the morning so you have plenty of day light,If you get on your hands and knees and get your ear to the ground you can often hear if the ferrets working a rabbit.
  16. If you can cut it at all close to the quick she should find after a few days it will go back a bit more and you can cut again bit by bit.Otherwise its of to the vet.
  17. I have little doubt that some of the things that were described on this thread would be horrific to come home to,and can see why they decided never to chance it again. But it still makes me un- comfortable to think that people are saying that if you keep more than one dog together one is going to kill another. The fact is you can and people do all over the world.Bad things happen in life we've all had dogs killed or badly injured out hunting but you don't stop. We've all gone down pub and ended up in a fight,do you stop going out?Next time you see 5 horses in a field think what happens if one kic
  18. Kennel death waiting to happen imo... I just can't see it but Tia is only 6 months ill see when she's a little older see what her attitude is like mist is that laid back Tia's Wheaton bull whip grey a bit more fireee ill keep an eye on them cheers you got me thinkin now mmmm I dont think you can say for definite Ive kept dogs together all there lives,I now keep to separate because its easier for me.The main thing is only to keep dogs together that are roughly the same size keeping a lurcher with a terrier is going to end badly even if its only a minor disagreement. If you keep to lurcher's
  19. On the subject of wolves, in captivity if a wolf starts getting bullied,You may give it a night on its own to lick its wounds,But the next day it needs to go straight back out with the pack,Your only hope is that it will find its self at the bottom of the pack order. If you were to give it a week to its self to recover the pack WOULD kill it as soon as you let it back out.
  20. Fair play to you crorider your enjoying your dog and letting it do what comes natural.(Nearly said bred to do) Have fun.
  21. Don't think hounds fight any less than a pack of lurcher's would in similar circumstances.
  22. That looks nice leather gaffer
  23. You would want a lot of work for more than 2.Two is too many most of the time except for injurys or periods of windy weather bearing in mind you might be doing ferreting mooching in the day. The rest are really collectors,Usally women...? Met a lad last year who introduced him self has having 11 bull cross`s conversation over for me.
