Good coat, feet, better wind, size, and if my experiance is owt to go by eyes and brain too, though tbh 3/4 whippet /1/4 DH would imo be better for todays game, apart from that, nowt, , atb, buster. You would be using 2 extremes of running dog dont make sense to me.

Just wrapped a beno around my penis and had a w**k Thats my comic relief over for another year

Rings look alright to me,Might be a bit light though,Thats ok on open burys but when your trying to set one at arms lenght under a black thorn hedge i find a bit of weight in the ring helps.

So gsd are so good and sooo fast you can cross any old pet one with any old lurcher and get somthing worth keeping? Just out of interest what is all this big game thats so easy to catch, always read of them on here never actually seen it in real life

You can sing that . Theres a farmer by me,Hes next door neighbours pet spaniel got out ran in to the farmers yard,Farmer shot it He has no sheep. Any farmer that shoots a dog with out a proper reason deserves what ever they get as far as im concerened. What if a 60+ farmer shot your dog for no reason your hardly going to knock on hes door and beat the shit out of him are you?But you probally would want to have your revenge.

Good post that mate, yes dont think its just down to being unsocialized, unfortunately the bad experience seems to be the being called, its worse around the yard and kennel, patting your legs come here boy makes it worse. As i say if you saw him out walking ferreting you wouldn't think he was bad, call him though

I am frustrated Hes a tool but i try not to let him know i think that.

Airgun guy I'm not a quitter, just thought id put it up here and see what response,Sometimes you cannot see the wood through the trees Taz all puppies are immature,Think i know what your saying though but there might be more to it than that. Dog magic,Always thought theres no point telling a dog to do something it ain't going to do or your teaching it to ignore you,Trouble with this one you can be playing with him one minute call him a second later and he will act like you've just beat him.But yes might join the extend able lead brigade.

To cut a long story short i ended up with a pup3 months old very nervous,Since then he has been with me nearly constantly,In the house even on the couch,Ferreting any where i can have him with me.Just left him to do what he wanted within reason. Now 2 months on my head is totally fried, Out with the other dogs you wouldn't think hes nervous,When hes asleep on the couch a bomb could go off.The odd time he wants to play grand. But then when you want him sometimes he will come head down body curled(i can handle that) other times he just sits there from a safe distance ears pricked,Sitting do

Fantastic shots,Would love to get a shot of one of my dogs like that, for the wall,Tried a few times never manage it but. Hard to imagine a better built dog for the ferreting than a good whippet.

I don't know how many packs do that and I can only draw on my own personal experiences but if you know your country and get to know the various farmers you know which ones like you to mop a few up when you're on their patch and which ones are happy to keep foxes on their ground, quite often at meets (pre-ban) farmers will come up and say "have anything you can please the buggers been at my chickens/lambs" or "anything goes to ground please leave it" that's how simple it is. Yes of course,As i have a love of hounds if not all the lads that follow them i will bow out of this one. But to conde

How many hound packs when deciding there meet cards or where they were drawing any given day, did so by working out whether the fox`s needed controlling or not? So why should a lad with a lurcher be any different? As for rifles i have one here i use to show face with the farmers during the summer,Not really my sport,But i wouldn't really knock it.Have had some good permission over the years get absolutely destroyed by the rifle lads,I find it hard to understand why some one would go back to the same farm again and again until they have killed every living rabbit and fox.

Kennel Blindness, Denial An Bullshit?
weasle replied to jimbobsmutts's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
I agree,It shouldnt matter who starts a thread...Would be a better site. -
Id buy a range rover sport and have the best of both worlds.... But if your going back preban,Never thought a single lurcher had much chance with munties in the brambles to be honest,So i would have still stuck with a racy lurcher and brought a spanielx to flush them. Each to there own. Now its only rabbit for me so even more important to have a bit of early toe.

That red bit is a brave statement to say the least,Plenty of whippets that will go through cover better than a terrier. Then you go on to say when crossed back to grey you hit the jackpot,With running dogs speed kills,Finding the right balance is the hard bit. Its easy to lamp and catch bouncers you can do it with a collie,Ive seen dogs you struggle not to take the light of the rabbit to see where the dog is Catches plenty if thats your thing. But the same dog in the day time out mooching,Ok if you have game rich land but if you have to put the miles in you need a dog than can make a half

Some times wish i was kennel blind life would be a bit easier.... Some times you know even when you have a young pup on, before its even old enough to do much, it aint got it ,or not got what you want it for.Thats the hard one. You have no choice but to carry on and hope it proves you wrong, but i never had one yet that did. Ive lost plenty of sleep wondering about my own dogs performance. Kennel blindness is the way forward. -

Lost a young dog my self start of season.Nearly every day out i wondered how he would be getting on. But otherwise had a good one you just have to put in the miles to find fresh ground,No point walking ground you know theres nothing on.
