Always perplexed me why anybody wants 'a name' in the dog world, it just brings agro. What's wrong with just enjoying your hunting and keeping it between your mates? And who really gives a toss if some chap wants a name and talks the talk? Does it affect you/me and your dogs? Personally I couldn't give a shite what other dog men can do or claim to be able to do, all I care about is what me and my own can do. Does it really feel better being 'the top man' than just being out on ya own or with a mate enjoying your hunting?

I know plenty of lads who look forward to Sundays, work and family commitments often leaves just one day to give the dogs some graft, the odd hour lamping in the week can be fitted in at times. The one full day they get can be utilised to the full.Others may venture forth more often and have dogs far less tested. Fact is, life ain't all about hunting, I bloody wish it was! I do what I can when I can which as above is a bit of daytime at the weekends and the odd couple hours lamping in the week. I keep mooching about in the summer evenings for the odd bit of ferret food, to keep an eye on

I'm forever bollocking the terrier for chewing hedgepigs! She hasn't managed to kill one but chews them enough to blood her jaws up. The lurcher has more sense than that, she just pisses on them.

None, but that's a very simplistic interpretation of statistics. Most countries that don't have nuclear weapons either don't need them because their enemies don't have nuclear weapons or they are protected as part of a nuclear capable miltary alliance (such as NATO). Do you really think the likes of the cold war wouldn't have ended in mass bloodshed if only one side had nuclear weapons or even neither side? The UK would currently be the western USSR! Nuclear weapons keep the major players in this world talking, it maintains a balance. In the future smaller, potentially more volatile nations wi

Threats are wide and varied. The definition of the enemy isn't always clear I agree. BUT that doesn't mean we ignore the lessons of history. So we give up our nuclear deterant........... we have plenty of enemies in the arab world, what if one of these develop nuclear weapons, it'll only take one radical leader with a set of bollocks and we'll be wishing we had something to persaude them otherwise. The worlds an unstable place, I don't want to rely on our uncle sam with his big guns to keep us safe. It's not satisfactory to just defend our shores, we have to be able to take the offensive w

We don't know what threats are around the corner. Our military has to be flexible enough to adapt to any unforseen threats to our security. Currently the threat of another state carrying out a nuclear attack is very small but we can't say that that will be true in 15, 20 or 25 years........... If suddenly that threat emerged we would be left at a severe dissadvantage and it's not something that can be rectified in a couple of days. Literally decades of R&D go into a project like that. We really haven't a clue what's around the corner, only speculation. We don't have the military might

£115 billion for a world class nuclear deterant might be unpopular with the public, but what the f**k do the public know about defence? As long as John and Jane can buy a plasma tv and go down the pub they really couldn't give a shit about anything else, the 'masses' are short sighted! It'd be a shit load more unpopular if we were threatened by a nuclear capable state like durring the cold war.

I wouldn't mind seeing the look on Fury's face if Haye said "f**k it, I'll have ya at that chap" LOL.

Where ever is nearest and most conveinient! I really couldn't tell you the difference. LOL
-
I look in a damn sight better condition than Fury, but could I f**k go 12 rounds! I think it's hard to say he's in the best physical shape he could be though.

Give it back? So they owned it at one point then? LOL

I don't mean to redirect the thread too much, but how are Dill's two pups doing Penny?

Nothing wrong with it in principle. Animal wellfare however is perhaps another issue entirely.

Just about to say that. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Religion_in_Japan#Islam In 2000 Keiko Sakurai had estimated the number of ethnic Japanese Muslims in Japan at 63,552, and around 70,000 - 100,000 foreign Muslims residing in the country.[19] In Japan the government does not take religion into account as part of the demographic concern under religious freedom. As Penn states, "The Japanese government does not keep any statistics on the number of Muslims in Japan. Neither foreign residents nor ethnic Japanese are ever asked about their religion by official government agencies".[20]

Some cracking tales! I was there with you on that one whippet, I could see it all clear as day, great writing.

Readie, I understand your point believe me but if we loose the right to appreciate these aspects of our own society with some sort of hierarchy of worthyness there's really little point in our brave servicemen fighting at all.

to hunt a foot pack mate you need to be chief cook and bottle washer dont compare a fell or foot foxhound pack with a mounted bit like cheasea and accrington stanley no less profesional but miles appart in many ways The jobs different I know, but surely a fell huntsman has to produce a better more independant pack for than his mounted counterpart where he's often well out of contact? Like I said i know feck all. The bit of experience I have in hunting I know which I prefer, probably biasing me.

I don't pretend to know shit about hounds but first person that comes to mind is JH of the Ullswater, a gentleman and hell of a huntsman with experience in Canada as well as the UK. A true gent!

That One Perfect Shot..
Born Hunter replied to 03milesR's topic in Driven, Walked Up, Rough Shooting
Nothing spectacular really. I'll never forget my first English partridge which was also my first game bird, walked up and shot with my rusty old SxS I was given. I'll also never forget my first fox flushed by terriers. A pleasing shot from last season would have to be a high mallard really motoring, swept through it lovely with the Beretta 390 and it fell for an age plumetting like a 1000lb bomb High and fast just collapsed in flight instantly dead, just a very sweet pleasing bird and shot. -
In fairness, I called baw a daft twat. I didn't mean it maliciously but it was out of order and I'll apologise now. I still think he's a daft twat mind but I should'nt have said it.

Lab, he even comes with a warning plastered above his avatar! In all honesty, I haven't a problem with anyone on here. I may disagree with a lot and get a bit heated but no big deal to me. I just f***ing love to argue on things I believe in. I really did try not to, I'm such a c**t for biting though!

If I give you my PayPal can one of you rich c**ts send me some money? Eating fooking road kill here. Baws ya man, he makes more a month than I do a year...... I'm too thick to know how to work PayPal..... Never mind, just randomly post it out, you'll hit him eventually. You earn hundreds of thousands a year so no bother really eh.

Yeah, a couple of times following fell hounds. But ratreeper was talking about releasing pheasants, which is the post I took exception to. So why the f**k you're on about moors I don't know? You make a lot of assumptions baw, probably due to your preconceptions of people. I help run a non profit game shoot, week in week out I'm working on it. At the same time as getting educated and eventually to the point now where I'm working a full time job. So do I meet your preconceptions?
