  2. Ok it wasnt a test on getting to places........... ..What they done was tried to see if a dog knew when its owner was coming home...........set up cctv and watched the dogs behaviour. They never knew when there owner was coming home as some folk think they do......just happened to be a coincidence sometimes. Not much difference then I seen a test on when cheese melts, f**k all to do with that either the dog I'm talking about jumps in, permission I'm talking about is 45 mins away. He stands for first 10 mins till I get fed up of him panting in my ear lays down and gets back up just before
  3. I'm sure I went to Wells as a kid on a caravan holiday. Is there a beach with a feck off big island within swimming distance? Sort of. But you could walk to the island as well. As a youngster and amateur explorer, as all young boys are, it fascinated me! LOL. I'm sure it's nothing like as grand as what I remember through my 10 year old eyes.

  5. Never turned up at home, but can easily f**k off on a hunt and always find her way back, even on unfamiliar ground. A few times I've thought I'd find her dead but fortunately not. Lurchers are like boomerangs!
  6. Nobody is joking about the lads that died or fell ill. Not sure what harm a few ex squaddies having a crack about their service is doing? It's sort of the British way I thought. time and a place......... Yeah and this is a fine time and place. Never had a crack about old work stories at a wake L1? I'm quite sure this is nothing like a wake and just a few chaps on the net discussing recent events, passing their respects and having a crack. Nobody victimised or made fun of to my reckoning. I know you have a close mate that gave his life in service but no way has anybody dissrespect

  10. i thought the Lord Kitchener in Brize Norton village was were the Faggots hung out i remember now, there were 3 pubs Beehive = old farts, Eagle = squadies & rock-apes, Osprey = lobotomized yokels & underage tarts You spent a lot of time in the Osprey then Paul? Amused me when I heard the RAF Regt. called rock apes, thought it was some hard core WWII name they had earnt..................... pissed myself when I found out the real reason!
  11. surely part of the selection would envolve self preservation and the buddy check system, dehydration is a killer and is basic stuff that a soldier would understand and know how to deal with it. You would think so, but then these lads were in the later stages of selection, judgement was probably impaired by the shear will to succeed. Death or glory sorta attitude. Walshie is right though, Afghanistan would be a fair bit hotter! I know it sounds harsh but it reminds me of that SAS chap that used to do that civilian selection programme on tv, he said something like "death is god
  12. They were on selection for the TA SAS. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-23311651 I did wonder why the f**k they didn't just stop and knock up some impromptu shelter when they felt heat stroke coming on. I guess they were quite determined to pass selection.
  13. He looks like an extremist Leprechaun! I'd be in bits if he tried to lecture me on my infidel ways.
  14. I'm gonna go against the grain here. When you're a teenager you dont know what you want and taking on any livestock can be too much of a commitment at such a young age. Ferrets aren't too bad because they can be rehomed a bit easier than a dog but still a commitment for someone still figuring out what they want or even whether they are gonna stick to this hunting lark. I'd suggest going out and getting an air rifle and blag a bit of permission and start from there. No commitment with a rifle so if in a year or two ya lost the bug or want a break it just sits under the bed untill you want to ag
  15. Tbh I was more interested in what he had to say about his own future. Just thought I'd stick it up here anyway.

  17. Automatic electronic spinners on 45 gallon drums. Make sure the grain is free from shit that might jam them.
  18. Fooking EXCELLENT! The more the merrier I say. What nationalities are we talking? Can we encourage the ones with decent quisine to open up a few more takeaways with a few million £££ in grants?
  19. So how old are you then Scot if you don't mind me asking?
  20. A truly selfless act! Not really much to say on such a person, just very admirable.
  21. Many happy returns Scot. I suppose you'll be treating yourself to a McFlurry and a tin of Bru?
