  1. Well the Dutchess of Cambridge is in labour with our future constitutional Monarch. I wish her all the best and I'm sure her husband and Prince will be very supportive. A special moment for them and us as a nation. Keep it civil chaps. ahem...... national holiday yeah?
  2. Vans are great, but cost more to insure and more to tax. I'd favour an estate or large hatchback over a van these days.
  3. How does a 1.2i kill you on petrol? I'd be looking at a 1.7TDi estate, about 100bhp and 50mpg. You'll fit a couple of lurchers in the boot of a standard hatchback Astra/Focus no bother as well. The smell's a ball ache but just sheet it up well and clean regular.

If somebody told you you were going to die at the age of 38 can you think of a much better way to go? Beautiful week of friends and family and instant end. I can only imagine how it must feel and that's not gonna make it any easier but just my thoughts. My thoughts are with his family.
  5. I can't stream the clip on this but is I'm guessing it's about those school kids that are wearing skirts because they're not allowed to wear shorts? Well, I wouldn't take it that seriously but fair enough to them for taking a stance and making a mockery of the system, why shouldn't they be allowed to wear shorts? Didn't some train drivers do the same recently?
  6. Everybody seems to turf these days, is there any reason why you can't seed a patch like that? My back yard resembles that and I need to get it grassed over the next few weeks.
  7. Wouldn't life be boring without a bit of adventure and risk! Sounds a right crack this open sea boating buisiness but not sure I could manage it, I spent the day on the Norfolk broads fishing earlier this year and was still 'woozy' the next day! Chucked up a full english crossing the channel once too........ It was flat calm!
  8. Stop being so tight and shell out for a proper landscape gardener! No escuses, we all know you're loaded now!
  9. Apparently 3rd Battalion the Mercian Regt. have a Stafford. Here's all of em; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Military_mascot
  10. I'm not the most savvy when it comes to money like these financial advisors etc, but I am reasonable sensible with the stuff. Anyway it's always struck me, the best way to invest money is in yourself........... by that I mean make yourself valuable, give yourself a skillset that retains it's worth despite financial woe. If money/gold etc became worthless tomorrow, who would be the millionaires? Those with unique and valued skillsets! Just one of my many weird lines of thought.......
  11. Buy a hammock and kip outside. Also try a cool bath or shower before bed, drops ya body temp right down.
  12. Right, so the cause of this was the welfare state, short sighted politicians and a greedy electorate and the end will be a rise in a national socialism? LOL Good link
  13. I've obviously lived a sheltered life, no canabalism takes place around here, just weekly shootings and stabbings in town..... quite tame really.
  14. An otherwise tollerable job suddenly becomes intellerable when ya going through shit in a relationship. I can appreciate that. Sorry to hear that BL but take some time out if you can afford to and get ya head straight.
  15. Fair doos, I seriously considered Sandhurst when leaving Uni but thought it would mean having to pretty much give up any dreams of living a reasonable hunting life for at least 10-15 years. What you said then made me wonder if I had made the right choice. you kidding they have their own pack of beagles And a rough shoot surrounded by some the best country or do you mean on. Passing and being deployed. I mean when I graduated I could'nt think of any job I would enjoy other than soldiering but I couldn't see how I could have working dogs and shoot etc while serving my years. So I just wi

  18. If you don't mind me asking Sock, how? I always thought that a career as a soldier would leave you with no way of keeping dogs unless you had a family to look after them for you?
  19. Plllleeeeaaaassssseeee!!! THE Baw has been known to knock out marines just to get to a fight!
  20. a life plan set yourself realistic targets where you want to be in 5,10,15 years or whatever --------------what age you want to retire and aim for that.. 5 years is too long for me, I need to have a plan for a year to 3 years or I'm shitting myself with anxiety! LOL. I hate feeling trapped or no where to go, need a plan no matter how daft to keep myself sane and moving forward. Thinking about retirement is even worse, might as well buy a coffin now and just lay down in it. I'm just bloody weird like that.
  21. Yeah, but that isn't really an option when you have a mortgage to pay and shit like that. Always have a plan and never see what you are doing now as the end of the path, if you start thinking like that you're done.
  22. And people wonder why i take my holidays in quiet remote wilderness type places ....couldnt be doing with all that ...people seem to think when your a big aggressive looking c**t it keeps you clear of trouble when in reality it does the exact opposite you attract every little flash arry in the resort who all want to show their bird and mates how tough he is.....especially after a couple of sangrias !!..........nah give me the back end of nowhere rather than a busy holiday resort any day of the week. So how do you explain baw getting so much grief? Your ability to upset folk do
  23. I'm not so sure about that mate. Up until about 17/18 I was afraid of any confrontation at all. Never had a fight as a kid. Got filled in a few times but never started or retaliated. My parents had me boxing and doing Judo but it never really went anywhere. Then one day a lad walked in the pub who bullied me through 2 years of school. He was the same size as when we were 15 and I was now 6' 2" and 15 stone. I don't know why or how but a switch flicked in my head and I hammered him. Having never thrown a punch before it must of looked messy but even so he was eating through a straw f
