I think he got that one after someone orphaned it as a cub. Used to take the f***ing thing for a walk on a lead with pet coyotes! Few other vids of lads handling pissed off adult ones they've caught by hand. Yeah I'm sure they would be a handful for a terrier but to judge how much of a handful an animal is by how tame they look has it's problems as I'm sure almost everyone on this forum will well know... -

You heard of Seth Simpson on your side? He runs decoy dogs and trains retrievers. From Idaho I think. He raised an American badger cub as a pet before getting in shit for it with some official agency. -

Don't like the look of many of them, they're all legs and nose, I like more solid well boned looking dogs. And a few I've seen are really hard natured, I like a dog a bit softer. There's the odd one that really stands out though and I'd have in a heartbeat. Nothing really about there working ability, just personal preference. In fact there's probably more shit cockers than shit springers.

The prices tripled and quadrupled over summer mate. This isn't the usual age old moan about paying for dogs, this is a vey recent explosion in demand and therefore price of dogs. Absolutely went through the roof with the pandemic. Expect a price crash next summer.

Put it this way, I was offered a pup off a decent bitch I have shot over and beat with for about 3-4 seasons and the lad still wanted 800......... reduced from 2k. A pup from a litter of red labs a mates father bred from a bitch who a keeper mate spoke very highly of was sold to 'almost' family for 1200! Again that was a massive reduction. No one is advertising working pups for 500 mate, no one. Even useless shit is advertised at 1500.

Well I've put the word about had some offers of planned breedings from decent bitches but not really what I was after, then yesterday a mate phoned to tell me he had exactly what I was after and the bitch should be dropping them over xmas. So I'm much happier now.

Sounds needy. Just craves approval from everyone. It can be redeeming at least. That keeper with the 250 I mentioned, he used to tell everyone that one of the Guns was in the "SAS or something like that". I'd never really say owt because there's just no f***ing point with these people and to be fair to the lad he had done well for himself over his career in the forces and was doing some cool shit but it wasn't the SAS or anything like it.......... it was the RAF Regiment ffs!

I used to help out a fella with his shoot, he was the shitest keeper in the world but the people made it. Anyway he was telling everyone after a days shooting how he'd just got a 'top end silencer' for his 22-250 and it was "whisper quiet" blah blah. How to deal with N.Ireland seems to have been the sticking point for the last two years. All things considered, I can accept this for now. It's one step towards them leaving the Union, but then they took that step already when they elected a majority of nationalists in the 2019-GE for the first time ever. I don't want to see the N.Irish leave the Union but pragmatism has to come in to it at some point.

Fair question and interesting answers but I think time of year has to factor in. I'm sure a 5 in August wouldn't get the same reaction as a 5 in December/January. I avoid lamping foxes as much as possible so nothing to write home about personally.

I done the same but for bigger dogs. I figured I could go 500x800 ID on one sheet of materials. I pretty much just glued everything in laminations. Seems to hold the warm well anyway.

I sort of agree, I mean how often do you see me telling folks about football or boxing. Yeah I'm half interested in what's going on, I've played and kickboxed and even had season tickets, but do I f**k know shit really. Im well aware of my limits there. Only thing I'd add though is I think anyone's views should be heard and accepted. I mean who's to say the professor or whatever isn't wrong? There's a name for winning an argument based purely on the credibility of the person, ad hominem. Its a well known fallacy.

I mean I try really hard to be too with people who need it. Ha Tbf I shouldn't because it doesn't do debate any good at all. People become more and more entrenched and attached to their views because their pride has been challenged. Chris Jones on here is an absolute operator in this respect! It's a pleasure to debate with people like him. Usually no one really changes their minds at the time but if things are kept respectful then often you'll mull over what was said and if warranted change your views because it doesnt damage your pride.
