  1. Chimps are apes not monkeys ffs! Honestly I f***ing despair at times!
  2. I was speaking generally mate. I'd rather not spar with folks but it was fun with you tbf because i could tell you were taking it in good faith. Some folks just ask for me to be a c**t with them though. Which is a shame because then anyone that reads what a write think I would treat their views the same.
  3. And you're entitled to your opinion and you share that opinion respectfully so I wouldn't deal with you the way I do some others who aren't respectful. Some folks come on here all bold with some numbers and tell everyone else they're mugs for not sharing their view. I dare to scrutinise their numbers and views and I'm then a government sheeple, lol. Others however just say they don't believe it but can't argue the toss and leave it at that. That's totally reasonable to me. If folks left their pride at the door we could just have a chat and listen to each other's views.
  4. Let me stop ya right there matey. Those pair were the ones quoting the government's flu figures, which were wrong. Not me. Which is rather ironic given I'm the one being told to stop believing the government. LOL Tell me, if you want to ignore the science, all of it, not just the narrative, then how do you know anything at all?
  5. Infection fatality rate estimates vary but are around 0.5 and herd immunity threshold is estimated at like 70% so that gives an average risk of dying in an uncontrolled epidemic of 1/285. Much much better for me due to how heavily it hits the aged. The chance of dying with controls like lockdowns etc is way harder to calculate and depends on how consistently the controls are applied.
  6. You wouldn’t calculate chance of mortality based on those numbers. They’re the wrong numbers for that. Like trying to work out a cars top speed based on the size and colour of its wheels. Youd need to know how many people were infected and how many died and then how many of the population you would expect to be infected before herd immunity ended the epidemic.
  7. ‘They’ being the government. Which is why, despite pathetic claims to the contrary, I’m not listening to the government!
  8. I’ll just beat a pleb to make myself feel better. .....And if he gets lairy I’ll claim I’m a pacifist!
  9. They were put down to various things, PARTLY flu, partly weather. All sorts. It’s lazy and deceiving to call them all flu. Just like it is to put all surplus deaths this year down to CV. Which is why they haven’t fyi.
  10. Show me where I’ve quoted the government on anything? Ive worked of the ONS because YOU told us to go and look at the data! Lol
  11. LOL, show me the data then? Cos I’ve seen it and you’re wrong. And guess what.... it didn’t scare me!
  12. LOL no that’s a fallacy that keeps getting spread because no one bothers to check it. There were 50k surplus deaths! Not flu deaths.
  13. No not the same number in the end! Lol. Jesus Christ someone tap me out.
  14. I’ve literally posted the numbers and graphs! If you can’t figure out which numbers are bigger than others I can’t help you. You’re comparing things that shouldn’t be compared because it’s unfair to. Like comparing a dog that has killed one to a dog that has killed three when they were run on totally different land. We did nothing to stop flu compared to what we have done to stop covid and you think you can compare them.
  15. No it isn’t. Lol. You said 2018 was worse. It wasn’t because surplus deaths were less and civil Liberty was better.
  16. LOL you’re the genius that mentioned ten months and compared it to a winter!
  17. really, I don’t recall having to wear masks, work from home, stop going to the pub or any of the rest.
  18. No disagreement from me. Folks wanna abuse their health that’s their business.
  19. As much as COVID in ten months with unprecedented protocols taken. They’re not comparable.
  20. Mate, once again, the surplus deaths this year are 13% greater than an average year. A bad flu year is like 2% worse than average. At this point in the year at least. If this was the flu then it’s be an outrageous strain based on its behaviour and mortality, not just a ‘bad year’.
  21. I’d like to hear expert opinion on whether there is reason to expect fertility effects. If there’s none then the fact it’s not studied at this point is imo worth the risk. Be interesting to see how the others differ as they are published.
  22. Lies, damned lies and.... Im with you this time on it!
  23. Correct, but I don’t think it’s been swept under the carpet. I mean anyone paying attention saw it. We were talking about ten thousand non covid surplus deaths back in summer on the other thread.
  24. This is all that I've seen for the UK on flu deaths. https://www.ons.gov.uk/peoplepopulationandcommunity/birthsdeathsandmarriages/deaths/bulletins/deathsregisteredweeklyinenglandandwalesprovisional/weekending17april2020
