    Rabbits, be they wild, tame, semi-fecking tame,...whatever,...will readily mate, with one another.... This is what they do.....they enjoy doing it,... Bred several litters from wild bucks and does,..put them in with tame meat rabbits, New Zealand Whites, Flemish Giants ,.even the strange (but incredibly beautiful) red.. 'Belgian Hares'.... We had good litters and dropped a few well grown kits,. in safe, quiet areas.. Observed some plump and juicy progeny,...but, within two seasons,..the colonies reverted to type..     That is a good attitude,... Too many promising young ferrets/working dogs,..have been wastefully messed up, by giving them, too much graft,... too soon...

    There is a fair bit to consider, when re-stocking land that is devoid of rabbits... First thing to think about is why is it so....? Why ain't there any rabbits on a place...? If the answer is simply that a well executed,.continuous cull has reduced the numbers to zilch,..well,..there is no reason to believe that the population,..(if left well alone),..will not rise, Phoenix -like from the ashes,.once more.....     You guys are spot on,...Collies are incredably varied,.. in shape,..size, attitude,..etc, etc... I was brought up with herding dogs,...we had a fair few different types .... Some was good,...and some was not so fecking good... Obviously,.when choosing a sheepdog to create a lurcher,..it pays to look around for dogs that possess the traits you require. A good Collie is a great animal,..but a bad fecker,.. is pure trouble...

    The big old Welsh dawg reminded me of our farm curs, back when I was a boyo.... Loud, noisy,.. roustabout critters ,.ideal for bringing in, a few head of cattle ,...but,...a 'star's flight' from a quality Border Collie... The fabulous specialist ,...the supreme herder,... Truly, the Rolls Royce of pastoral canines....

Perhaps you might get a better deal, if instead of accepting vonga for your labours,..maybe try to do a deal/exchange/swap with the Butcher,...your fresh game,.. for his chickens, Sausages, whatever,....     Interesting comments, re; Saluki types and Collie types,...fact of the matter is,..they are two distinct styles of canine,..carefully bred over many years, to fulfill certain tasks.... It would be foolish to make comparisons, twixt these two intrinsically unique breeds..

    How could you do such a thing Trenchfoot,...I've seen men flogged for far less Personaly,..as a determined hunting canine,...the Saluki is something else,...and its influence over a lurcher hybrid,.is enormous....The dogs that I used to work,..nightly,..(.almost every suitable night),...were all heavily Saluki blooded..... Nowadays,..I lead a quiet and sedate life,...and a wee Collie cur suits me just grand,...but,.them beautiful Saluki gals,...well,...it was emotional
