  1. Are you suggesting that we are not experiencing global warming and climate change? Well, yes
  2. I wonder what the scientists of today would have made of the weather in Victorian times when the Thames used to freeze over every year and they had big fairs and such on it.
  3. If you have a look through this section you will find 90% plus is people asking for permission, and each and every one who posts is told somewhere along the line that this is a hunting site so no-one is going to offer it, yet still they ask. Put yourself in the position of someone who has land to shoot on, would you tell a person who has posted just a couple of times on here that they were welcome on your land? If you would you wont keep it long that I promise you. Why not try to participate in the forums and get to know people, I've made one or two good friends over the years on here who I g
  4. Way too much hard work for me. Whenever I see something like that I'm always wondering at the way some peoples brains are wired, never in a million years could I come up with something like that. The nearest I've come is when we were about 7 or 8 and me and a mate made a raft on the local pond, and even that sunk ....lol
  5. I would have thought every lurcher and terrier trees squirrels, my sons terrier will try to climb the tree after them if theres a way.
  6. My God it doesn't take much to please you does it Ray? Mad as a box of frogs and definate bunny boiler material if you ask me.
  7. Bought a 1969 cortina mk 2 in 1974 off a mate for 50 quid if I remember right. Column gear change and rust all over it but it never let me down in the 2 years I had it and the bench seats saw some action,,,lol
  8. My old dog caught his first rabbit at about 6-7 months old and from that moment has been wed to catching stuff, but my 10 month old pup is still acting like what he is,,,, a pup. He's just beginning to show real interest but only for short spells, then he's back to p***ing around and irritating me and the old dog but it will click one day, hopefully soon. They all mature at different rates mate, as has been said your dog is still very much a pup so don't worry. One piece of advice I've taken to heart from people on here who know a lot more than I do is that it's easy to ruin a dog by entering i
  9. I'm 60, Was out the other night with the dog walking back to the car after lamping a few fields and I thought to my self "I feel as fit as a feckin fiddle" so I did another farm and could barely get out of bed the next morning, it felt like I'd been run over.
  10. Can't tell from the picture but Grass snakes tend to be in damp areas and adders in dry ones from my experience.
  11. Went out on Monday and had 42 in 3 hours. Took my mate yesterday and everything was the same, wind direction, speed, weather, decoy pattern, the lot, and managed 7 or 8 in over 4 hours. I'll never understand pigeon shooting as long as I've got a hole up my a**e
  12. I don't know why but I was laughing all the way throuigh that, they all looked like when you were a kid and you went through with some dumb dare even though you were dreading it because you didn't want your mates to think you were chicken
  13. I read in the paper today that for the last few years Cliff Richard has been living with a preist Purely platonic of course...
  14. An MP on the telly tonight suggested that a person should not be named until charged, Seems a sensible thing to me
  15. I was thinking yesterday that maybe the birds will have a hard time of it this winter, The berries are nearly all ripe they'll be finished for the beginning of September at this rate.
  16. If they'd just given it another twelve months of being "trained" on chocolate and crisps it would have been too fat to do much running about, thats what most people seem to do round here anyway
  17. I've got an old jill here that I found living wild a couple of years ago who eats insects at every chance she gets, my others don't bother.
  18. She'll have to be loose at some time or another if your going to use her so as long as she's good with the ferts I'd say let her free from the off. She'll probably be a pain in the arse to begin with, messing the nets up and such but they soon learn whats what.
  19. I've got one the same here mate, about 5 now I should think and has been a decent worker but my daughter and grandaughter love him to bits. They have him out on the lawn nearly every time they visit and he still does all the bouncing round young ferrets do playing with them. Mind you, now I think about it he's fed every day, has a nice warm bed to curl up in and he's been sh***ing 3 jills for the past couple of months, if I was him I'd be happy too.
  20. I agree mate, it never wipes a population out just thins it down some. It only seems to strike round here when there's a good number in an area, maybe every 2 or 3 years, With the bad winters we've had lately I haven't seen many at all for the last couple of years but they are recovering well this year so I expect to begin seeing them more often soon.
  21. My missus has 4, I think they are called red rocks, and they've been popping out around 20 eggs a week in summer for the last 2 years, maybe 10 in winter. They were only a fiver each from the local farmers market and are as calm as you like.
  22. I had some stuff of them while ago and was pleased with it, though they only give you a certain day when it will be delivered, not a time. If you were not at home on the particular day and it was delivered early it could go off pretty quick I would think. I still get my main mince from the local butcher but the veal ribs and necks are great and so is the oily fish mince.
  23. Just found a half dozen mushrooms on my mooch, bacon and mushroom sarnies for breakfast, can't beat it.
