  1. Has it always been like that or was it the first time? Seems odd that a 12 month old dog would piss off if it's been schooled right from a pup. The best advice I've picked up off this site over the years is to learn patience, start from scratch with it even if it means missing the beginning of the season.
  2. I've kept brothers together before now with no problems but this year tried to introduce a new hob in with my hob and 2 jills and the hobs would have killed each other if I hadn't split them. As far as introducing your hobs to the jills there should be no worries, the scuffles will soon settle down if you let them alone. As has been said, there may be problems at breeding time with the males fighting, or even that the jills will take a lot of stick if they come into season at different times and both hobs are trying it on at once.
  3. Couldn't resist mate, it looks like you had a great time there, and I bet those bass taste nice.
  4.   They've dressed you in a father christmas outfit mate. It looks like you stuck your head through one of those novelty photo things at Blackpool.
  5. Good job there's no great whites over here because I'm pretty sure Matty would be a dead ringer for a seal in a wetsuit, a nice plump one at that
  6. I've never had a problem with jills but I took in a hob this year for a mate and my old hob and the new kid nearly killed each other, so much so that my old hob has broken both his inscisors off. I tried splitting them up and giving them a while to get used to each others smell but it made no difference, the second they could get at each other they started. Luckily a good mate was looking for one so I moved him on.
  7. For the past few months I've had a bees nest underneath the freezer in the garage and my old dog has been obsessed with them, mainly I think because he lies on an old mat near there and they have been flying over him as he tries to sleep. He's killed dozens and dozens and for the past few days we've seen none so I think he's finally done them, but how he hasn't been stung I don't know.
  8. I wish something like that would come up round my way. Now I'm retired it would be a perfect way to keep fit doing something I love. Best of luck with it mate.
  9. I've always thought it was to do with the warm weather and the high numbers at this time of year.
  10. I've got one I found a couple of years ago, She was in a bad way when I picked her up, one eye completely closed and thin as hell but she's been the best ferret I've ever had. Whenever I give them a run in the garden she still hunts insects, so I guess she got that from when she was on her own. Also, on the couple of occasions they have escaped she's never gone more than a few yards from the pen, I reckon she knows where her breads buttered.
  11. Might not be a good idea to put a guys phone no on here without his permission.
  12. A mate of mine had one and the only problem was that he wrecked any net he came across, I'd much rather have a ferret that can pass through them.
  13. Sounds like what I have in my pool it will be blanket weed, and almost impossible to get rid of. My filters are just two cold water storage tanks and not that bad for blocking up but whenever I clean them out they are full of the stuff. I've tried a few of the blanket weed removers and nothings done much good to be honest,
  14. Ginger Baker was really good but it's Keith Moon for me all the way, the best drummer ever IMO
  15. I had a mk 1 15ft until the collar gave up on me last year and loved it, The only replacement collars I could get were 8fts and they are useless so I bought a mk 3. I've found it to be a pain in the arse at times but it's usually something I'm doing wrong that causes me problems, You need to be a bit more thoughtfull with the mk3's whereas you just switch a mk1 on and point it.
  16. Spain or Portugal will be the next ones to want to go, or maybe France if Le Penn gets in.
  17. Been watching this unfold for months now and I hope it works out well for the Greeks, but they have got whats basically a communist government (or at least one with communist leanings) and we all know how well communism works. The EU are going to do everything they can to punish them for daring to say "fcuk off" too.
  18. Why should that happen? No one is saying send everyone home, just that the country is full and there should be no more migrants allowed in.
  19. I bought a fold up scythe off ebay last year for about 8 quid, absolutely great for cutting nettles and stuff from around holes.
  20. Anyone else have a dog that can spew up just the bits he doesn't want? Whenever he has bones he always spews the bits that are too big to come out the other end the next day, but even if he's been fed it's only ever the bits of bone that come up, never anything else. For the life of me I've never been able to understand how he does it.
  21. Both mine are thieves but my old dog is a master at it, you never hear him till he's finished whatever he's nicked. I have to be careful when we're out too, I think he's worked out he's a scary looking sod to a lot of people and he'll mug them if they have stuff in their pockets. His latest was to walk up to a guy fishing and snatch a mouthful of groundbait complete with maggots and eat it like it was best beef. He's never had an upset stomach in the 7 years I've had him, he often nicks polythene bags that have held food but they just pop out the next day the same as anything else.
  22. I'd guess there may be a free ferret in a few weeks
  23. I remember this type of thing happening to me many years ago, a guy came ranting and raving that I'd nearly run over his dog even though I'd seen it and stopped to let it move away from the car. Luckily I was young enough and big enough to "explain" in the only way he'd understand that I'd done nothing wrong.
  24. The poor jills going to have her work cut out feeding that lot. I'd love to see how she's going to keep them in the nest once their eyes open too.
  25. I've just gone over to an injury only plan with Morethan, My old dog is 7 now and full insurance for both was going to be just too expensive for me. I'm hoping the lurchers are going to be like all the other mongrels I've had and live to a good old age without a lot of trouble.
