    Every time I've introduced new ferrets to my hutch all hell has broken out for days on end, but they always settle down eventually. I find it helps to have 2 nest boxes so the one that's getting the rough end of the stick is able to keep out of the others way.

    I was sitting at home yesterday feeling depressed at being 61 and opening my presents, all old mans stuff like slippers, baccy, and a leather belt that wouldn't go round my gut I opened the final one from my son and yippee he'd bought me a catapult :laugh: I was off at first light with the dogs this morning pegging away at squirrels and woodies like a 12 year old. there's life in the old dog yet.

    I remember a few years ago using one to find a mates house not that far from me, and it made a 5 mile journey a 25 mile one, I've never trusted the things since.

    I had the opposite yesterday, me and my ferreting partner spent the last two weeks clearing brambles and nettles from a huge warren (to me anyway) in a windbreak and yesterday was to be the big day to ferret it. We put 40+ nets down, in went the ferrets and we waited...... and waited..........and waited. Not a single rabbit did we see, even though the ferts went from top to bottom of it It could only happen to me.

    I've been reading the conspiracy theories on the net for a few years now and used to take them with a pinch of salt, and slowly but surely what they have said is proving to be right. A lot of them point the finger at members of the royal family, particularly Andrew. A few years ago I'd have laughed but after Sir Cliff "Madge" Richard turned up in that written list from Elm House I'm not so sure any more.

    It must be great sport to ferret a warren with no obstructions and take a good number of rabbits. Round here I end up itching from nettle stings all night, covered in scratches from the brambles and all for a couple.

    Are you doing the same warrens each time? Rabbits soon learn that whats waiting on the surface is worse than a ferret and seem to take their chances underground in my limited experience

    Heard one the news last night that a house in my town has been searched, they must be spread all over the country. I think its just a question of time before theres another bomb or killing by the mad b*****ds, and once again the politicians who let them in will throw their hands up and wonder why it happens

    Just seen the pictures on the news and the head and shoulders shot looks like a tiger to me but the other picture I saw looked like a domestic cat. It may be just the angle the photo was taken at but the grass around it looked in scale to be a moggy. I did laugh though when I read earlier that "A local big cat sanctuary has denied losing any animals" If it is a Tiger they feckin would wouldn't they :laugh:

    Best bet would be to take the dog where there are no scents to distract it and get the recall sorted before taking it out again. At the minute she's realised that hunting is way more fun than obeying you and you're just reinforcing the fact that she can piss about without you if you don't. It might be worth a few boring walks around the local park if it stops the problem

    As long as the pup doesn't nip at the ferrets it can only be good for the dog imo, mines been going from a few months old. Expect it to piss about and get in the way occasionally while it's young but they soon learn.

    The poppy appeal is one of the very few charities I donate to and have done for the last 40 odd years. I don't wear a poppy because I don't feel any need to, as long as I know I've helped I'm happy.

    I think you are missing the point that a huge number of people in the country are sick to the back teeth of the two main parties, and the elite that run them. I agree with you that UKIP are an untested force but what is the alternative if you want a halt to immigration and out of the EU? It's like being told you're dying and you're only hope is an experimental drug. Would you take it? As far as I can see if something isn't done in the next few years it will be too late so that's why I'll be voting UKIP. My ideal scenario would be that the Conservatives become conservative again but I'm not h
