They're not an animal I've much time for. I've seen them diving in the harbour in Clogherhead and coming up with live fish in their mouth, crunch the fish with a bite and let it sink. They don't even dive to follow it down. They're a very wasteful but efficient predator. When it comes to them going upstream they're either following Salmon or things are tight offshore. That's when I feel sorry for them. When you see 5 or 6 trawlers fishing the same stretches of water every day then something has to give. LOL, there needs to either be a cull on Seals or fishermen.

One thing I've noticed over the years when I've met or got to know folk who were fit, healthy and mentally healthy but in their 70s and 80s is that they always had a reason to get up in the morning. Whether it was to feed a few horses, let the pigeons or chickens out or go fishing they always had a reason to get out of bed. On the other hand I can think of wealthy depressants who'd lie in bed all day and when they did eventually get up they looked straight away for their escape ie. the pub, the bottle or the pills. They rarely live long happy lives.

Would that be the same Mr Westmoorland who on a video said that you shouldn't dig to a terrier, you should wait for it to come out and then sit back waiting for the fox to bolt Pabs ???? Legends of the game ? And he standing beside a man who wouldn't breed of one who couldn't worry a fox regularly. Nice pics though Glyn.

Their habits are definitely not set in stone , FUJI. A mate told me last night that he seen two boxing yesterday. Also yesterday I seen a few, all in pairs.

A friend a couple of years ago texted me on a Sunday evening to tell me that their beagles had pulled her down after a 3 hour hunt. On the Monday morning at a meet I mentioned it to a man who'd been 27 years in professional hunt service with a pack of foxhounds. He called me a bullshitter and told me it can't be done.

Dogs Back From Rspca
neil cooney replied to UcanRUNbutUcantHIDE's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
That's great news and very well done on fighting for your dogs and getting them back. Happy new year. -
I was always a Motorhead fan and Lemmy's autobiography is a good read. f****d around by record labels and made more money out of writing songs for others than himself. He was once told that his body was so used to substance abuse that to give it up could be dangerous, LOL, then he was singing the Ace of Spades (a song he hated) and after the line "I don't want to live forever" he added "but apparently I'm going too," LOL. Him and Philthy Animal will be doing some jamming up there above, LOL. R.I.P.

And yet there was a red Merle in the North of Ireland in the early 90s that couldn't be beaten at shows (mind you, shows were not as plentiful as nowadays) , he was a beauty. I often heard lads back then saying that a lot of dog thieves wouldn't touch a Merle, to easy to identify.

He was out of a Tyson bred dog to a Cowan bred bitch Neil. Threw to his dam's side, leggy, narrow fronted and had a Bedlington top knot if not stripped.Worked like his dam too, full on, agile as a cat, the type that could work well in rock. Would kill foxes in deep and would try an draw and kill if shallow. Took a while and a fair bit of face to work steady on them big dog foxes.. Was petrified of any quarry it had killed and would not go anywhere near it..! Editrd to add... Cost me twenty quid as a ball of fluff! .

Could be the start of a Dynasty.

Well said Dido. That poor unfortunate Master who died this year on the opening day had a load of scumbag pieces of filth posting on Face Book saying they were glad she died. For a hunting person to look at a bullfight and say they like to see the Matador or in her case the Picador suffering they are no better than an anti, in fact they are anti. Sir Mark Prescott summed up the life of the Spanish Fighting bull as 4 years of living perfectly on the Spanish countryside ended by 20 minutes of glory. Most of the beef we eat nowadays doesn't see 18 months.

Used to call them Niggers when they were completely black over here, but now we're politically correct. LOL.

Smart Lakeland Bosun, looks like a similar terrier I had in the late 80s. Cost me two weeks ages.

Yes Liam ,I've replied to your PM. Thanks.

Can you send me a PM Liam please. A friend had one stolen in Carlow a few weeks ago, you never know.

You big girls blouse. Are you made of sugar or something ? Up here we only know it's cold or raining if someone tells us, .

You too Jigsaw, may all your goats in the New Year be big smelly Billies, . Best wishes.

The last time I had a tankard or three before a Boxing day meet I was sure that hounds were hunting two stags at the same time. Never drank before hunting since, .

Sorry, I know it's Christmas day and all that but any man who'd shoot a Woodcock (considered by many as the King of game birds) on the lamp is only a bollocks IMO. For a lurcher to take one or to shoot one over a gundog is sporting. But lamping them with a gun ???????? It's the same as shooting a hare IMO.

Some of the best I've had were mega pains in the ass when another terrier was being dug to. In fact some would bite you. I'd rather see a pup cart wheeling than lying there quietly.

I don't do car parks. If wellies aint fashionable in a store I don't shop in it, simple as that, LOL.

Ireland Christmas Greetings From Appleblossom
neil cooney replied to appleblossom's topic in Gamefairs, Meet Up's and Events
Merry Christmas Margaret. Tell me, we already know he has the belly but did Dessie put on the red suit and big white beard ???????????? -
The secret IMO is knowing who gets your dog. Free and they might be for sale the next day. A reasonable price they'll be snapped up but if they don't make the grade the new owner will often look for his money back = another dog on the merry-go-round. £1000 and you'll attract the man who makes his money very easily and they are very rarely dog men. They're usually messers. A fine pup like that IF IT WAS MINE, I'd take my time and get it a good home and make a condition that if it didn't work out it HAD to come back to me and then do what should be done, which is ,let's face, something the
