Before EDRD it was The Working Terrier then it was The Working Terrier and Running Dog and they even had the balls to go into the major newsagents. Then the antis sent them a small bomb, that went off. But they bounced back. But it disappeared all of a sudden. Then Mr Harcombe started EDRD and it was a breath of fresh air. There was some great contributors ie. Phil Lloyd ,Peter Tulip, Gary Hosker (remember Spud) and I think there was even a young lad who used to cause arguments called Jonno . Springview used to write for it and he passed last week. What was the name of the Welsh docto

Good question Ands. Scientists have been telling us for years that daylight hours is what brings many animals into season but that can't be the case with so many species's breeding seasons fecked up. Every thing else in nature is changing but our day light hours are still on the same yearly circle as ever.

Fireman, interestingly there's a letter in a recent Countrymans weekly regarding Buzzards killing Little Owls. The writer reckons the owner of his local Owl sanctuary is blaming the Buzzard for the shortage of Little Owl numbers. It's interesting to hear that coming from an obvious BOP lover. -
How times have changed. He was a sporting personality in the day, now-a-days he'd have to keep his affairs very private. I wonder what would Joe think of the little pig shaped match stick legged thing that passes for a Staff now-a-days ?

Magners Irish cider lol wouldn't drink that shit if they paid me if I'm going Irish I go flat out on the black stuff coming over to Ireland this summer so looking forward to how it tastes over there as they say it's nicer You wont be disappointed Cushty , no comparison.

Yes mooching can relate to ferreting don't really understand your question but hope I answered itWhat I meant was if someone was just walking across fields and woods in the day/evening Do people take a ferret and a couple of nets with them and the dogs on a walk? Or are they mooching on there permission Don't confuse mooching with poaching. Or smooching for that matter.

I bet it was. No problem with the shooting of any quarry if it's used and let's face it most Hare hunters chuck her across the ditch after telling themselves how great they are. For eight years old that dog looks in great nick, I shoot over an eight year old bitch regularly, and the bitch is a beauty too. Season's near over and you're finishing up nicely.

The term "having a mooch" is what you tell the judge and the game and equipment in the ditch were nothing to do with you.

Sparrow Hawk Prey Items.

Fireman, I like you, you're a nice fellow, BUT that never happened. That Barn Owl was injured by someone on the shoot. WAS IT YOU ? Seriously though, that, would not surprise me one bit. I would not begrudge an Owl , a Kestrel and (because they're scarcer now) a Spar a kill but the fact that there's no fallen stock left out anymore and there's no myxy around here but yet I can see 4,5 or 6 Buzzards in a morning tells me that they hunt to survive and IMO anything is fair game. I walk across a field of stubble everyday and I was there when it was harvested and they spilled half the wheat. It -
Funny enough, over the years on this inter-net thingy I've remarked many's a time about those who sell pups. BUT, I haven't an issue with it. It's the way the world works. I do however have an issue with breeding a litter to sell. There's a big difference. Not every one, after breeding a litter for themselves, can place every pup in a friends kennel and believe me that doesn't always mean the pup will have a good permanent home. When a lad start's to see the almighty £££££££££££££££££££££££££ and breeds from young dogs and bitches twice a year that's when a lad goes from a terrierman to a

Bell, I was going to give you a like but then I seen ol' Puss, but then again I'm Irish and shooting hares in Ireland is punishable by castration , they're on the quarry list but it's a no no. Hunting, coursing or nothing. How do you cook them ? That's a real nice mixed bag and those Springers are definitely the type I like. Both bitches ? Is that a Snipe up top of the photo ? Fired at two this Winter, missed both. There's a few Teal there. This time last year I was feeding two pools with plenty of Teal coming in. This year the first Teal I seen was last Sunday.

If there's cubs about it must be time to start getting the terriers fit, , seriously though it doesn't surprise me. I seen Daffodils in flower this morning.

Good thread and it's always a pleasure to see such nice terriers, and all in great condition too. Their owners prides and joys I'd say.

They are in Ireland but I think he's looking for hand reared ones. A friend of mine buys birds and animals on the continent and imports them to Ireland . He told me he can get Muntjac in Belgium. They're 300 euro for either one or a pair, I can't remember which. LOL.

He May Need A Smaller Boat
neil cooney replied to paulus's topic in Wildlife and General Photography
Nice pics. Regarding the boat man ? If a fellow can't get a long thing like a narrow boat through a large gaping hole like a canal bridge we can assume he has no children. -
I was going to put up the pic of Mr Mallen with a Staff under one arm and a Gamecock under the other, but every body has seen that.
-
Seriously, but I don't know whether to laugh of cry. If that was the most that happened me after a ramble I'd be happy.

Don't think anyone has forgotten Mr P. Just chose not to mention him, simple as that. Have to say though, there's some names after been brought back up on this thread that have brought back some nice memories. They were lads that did the business and it's great that they're remembered.
