true with sports gear lol, the lurchers pissed all over the collies for agility/speed on the Fly ball. But they did have some real racy type collies that were very fast, maybe they had drop of whippet in them few gens back, make good rabbits dogs x back to grews deff. i did show Bullmastiffs in 1985 and won best male , that year, and won the LKA show best Bullmastiff just before Crufts . but came out of the breed after all that, as the breed was getting very unhealthy HD and few other probs , like most breeds to day more so lot of the big type guard breeds , they getting to big and u

spot on sandy, i was just going say the same mate, they great stamina and pace , and good bone and feet. put a 1xgrey bitch of this breeding to a 3/8 pit 5/8 grey , what great lurcher, would take most quarry i reckon ,would need lot of work as well. the norm type foxhounds are massive dogs , most hit 85-100lb a big bone dog to trot all day with horses , the trial hound be far better x to a lurcher or grehound to create a lurcher deff, really surprised it never been used before.

yep when bred right , there hard to beat as guard dog , and they should be more healthy and better temp than the show crap about today. aussie whip bullmastiffxpit sounds good dog and good age as well, back in the 80s when i had bullmastiffs, i knew few people thinking about out crossing bullmasstffs to ridgebacks to get more healthy type dogs , but dont think many did it, it deff improve the bullmastiff in health , and if used a pit like his dog , you end up with better alround type guard dog , and that the end goal aint it .

it bit hard from a pic really, but the dogs seems to have thrown more to the bulldog than the mastiff,on paper the breed is suppose to be 60%mastiff,and 40%bulldog. dont mean jack shit regards as guard dog. but if you look at the of 1930, they not as heavy or to much bulldog in them. few will know i had this breed and other bullbreeds,(staffs,pit) around the 60s and 80s, my male bullmastiff great type for this breed, he was big dog but very well put together. i got the best male bullmastiff at crufts 1985 , and won best bullmastiff at the LKA show, just before crufts. i came out of the bree

sounds good type lurchers for most quarry, you carnt beat lurcherx lurcher from proven parents pups should be sound.

how big is she ? she looks about 24in 45lb by your whippet , could be wrong , like said on your other post i like this asoppose to a pure whippet , more so if they 7-8 gen bred you get more of a idea what size they throw then. she doing well from your posts .

Got him ,had to wait , but took me time and worather the wait. Had to be careful as didn't want to hit my oil tank, always going to be rats at my place, as next door got stock,sheep.alpacas, horses. Was good size i I've got 10 size boot and you can see it size next to me foot.

true that , he had flurry punches in the early start of few rounds , then didnt throw any more punches in the rounds, fury threw prob bit more , but never looked like he drop wilder . from watching this fight, i reckon Aj beat both of them, if keep good defence , he deff would and can knock both out .

if the couple are Dutch in the pic, i think the dogs are Broholmer, there were bred as dual purpose dog, for butcher dog/cart and guarding . big dogs 27-30in 130lb , the early ones are like in the this pic, there The Mastiffs book colonel David Hancock., not the lurcher breeder from Brum.

always liked this x , ive had none ped racing whippet, nice little 20lb bitch, dogs were about 32lb and full on mad buggers lol, but always thought a nice 1x whippetxgrey say 5-6 gen somthing 22-24in 45lb make great rabbit dog day and night, bit tougher than whippet, and maybe handle cold bit better, but had soft spot for that little 20lb bitch i had .

no mate ,moved 5 years this oct, i on the Hereford /border nice place quite rural ,few shoots by me, they dont like lurchers or any type running dog around here though, ilike a mooch day and night , you got to keep the dogs fit aint yah lol
