  1. rabbits breeding all year round, seen a few kits round xmas time, the days of only catching rabbits with an r in the month are well gone, still afew rabbits local to me, but mxy has already raised its ugly head in alot of places, lets hope they get a good breeding season and build up a good immunity against it.no signs of any rhd yet, thank goodness.
  2. if you aint got the dollar to pay the fines, they cant get it out of you, so next move is prison, cant see that happening, using scare tactics to intimidate ordinary law abiding citizens.probably try and jail a few folk at firs, to try and prove their power egos.
  3. everybody wants to keep letting their dogs, chase rabbits, prisons full to capacity already, couldnt possibly jail everyone, total madness and unworkable bill, how much is it going to cost to police it,worlds gone nuts.
  4. mick cawston, a very talented man, so sad he struggled with life, got quite a bit of his early work hanging in my home,i was always a great admirer of his work and prints, one print i always regret never purchasing is a Noble Breed, a portrait of Miss anastatia noble, with her deerhounds, limited edition of 500, i know their making big money now, if they ever come up for sale.which is pretty rare.
  5. i know where this lad is coming from, believe or not blokes used to keep day dogs and night dogs, the reason being that night dogs were just kept strictly for lamping and were not taken out in the daytime, due to their owners wanting them to work solely by sight, and if the dog was used in daytime it would use its field craft and scent at night, usually taking off in darkness chasing everthing in, not good if you were strictly a lamping man, daytime dogs that were kept were used for ferreting, bushing, gunwork and general mooching,so were not used at night, mate of mine long gone now used to
  6. great to see the bond you had with shadow, can see by the pics, you and the dog were a good team over a good few years, always really sad when you lose old faithfuls, you could always rely on, know how you feel mate, after losing my old deerx grey, only a few weeks ago, like i say the good ones always break our hearts when they go, chin up mate you gave the dog a good life.

    Jeff beck

an absolute legend of the guitar, well and truly respected in the music world, still love to watch old clips of him, performing with the yard birds, alongside paige and clapton, was even offered a chance to play with the stones, but dont think that was really his scene, never let fame go to his head, very unassuming man, rip jeff, keep em rocking in heaven, thanks for the music and the memorys.
  8. i think there used to be a guy called dave emerson, who use to breed both types of bedlingtonxs, were those dogs from him, believe he bred some good stock, but never seen any work, think he used to put ad in the early ed/rd mag, wonder if any of his old stuff is still about,
  9. strong looking young dog, looks the real old fashioned type, hows he bred, full moon here last night, you did well to catch a couple, myself wouldnt run a young dog in those conditions, makes rabbits lamp shy, and hard work on the dog, atb, nice to see your getting out and doing a bit with him, whats he like daytime work, looks a handy type.
  10. what you guys think off it, to me a complete waste of time and effort, im not a royalist by any standards, but it only took about 5 minutes, to tell the common wealth how the ordinary working class are struggling to survive in these really difficult times, as if we were not all aware of it, im sure those few comforting words are going to help desperate struggling families, the royals certainly look like their struggling like the rest of us, i think not, wonder what his contribution will be to ease this escallating crisis in britain. hope every body enjoyed their day yesterday, and had food i
  11. i buried cloud my 7th gen deerx grey, last thursday, he was 11yrs old, but had developed bone cancer, to say im gutted would be an understatement, shed a few tears not ashmed to admit it, thats 2 dogs ive lost this year, the other one to bloat at 5yrs of age, but thats dogs for you, no pictures of the old boy, but as you lads say plenty of great memories, rest easy old boy,you are sorely missed, but i know i always did right for you.
  12. yeah there deerx greyhound both sides, which dave told me keeps the height down.
  13. usually level out at about 27tts, and weigh round about the 25 kilo mark when fully matured, fastbehind things, but not over fast, make good lamping dogs.
  14. dave charges £500 for a pup, just got one from him a few months ago, had 3 from him over the years, still got the old 7th generation dog coming up to 11yrs now, ran him on allsorts of terrain, never ever knocked and game as they come, the 11th generation pup is maturing nicelly at 10 mths, holding him back till hes fully built, keen as mustard, get on well with these dogs and do all i need these days, easy to live with and loyal as hell, dave a real genuine bloke who went out of his way to help me get the dogs from him, a nice man, just my opinion, speak of folk as i find them.

beautiful restoration work, all worth a good few bob, wouldnt sell them mysel but everythings got a price, often look in classic bike magazine at prices on old bikes, climbing all the time, loved my years as a biker, but getting too old to fall off these days, lol.
  16. like that a lot paulus, something different very creative, looks like something that henry cole from find it, fix it , flog it, would knock up and sell for a good profit at auction, you and him got some nice bikes and similiar ideas, all the best in your restoration projects, wish i still had some of the bikes that i owned in the 70s be worth a few bob now,250cc k4 honda73, gt 380cc suzuki 75. gs 750 e suzuki, and 350cc rd yamaha74, just to name a few.
  17. nice strong sturdy pup, looks as if its had a good start, hazard a guess to its breeding bullx collie greyhound, maybe a touch of saluki in there, no matter what just take your time and enjoy, atb.
  18. a brilliant guitarst and fought his cancer hard for years, often watch him on you tube, brilliant performance with roger daltry doing going back home, rip wilko, you and lee keep em rocking in heaven, top men from caveney island.
  19. sadly dont breed them like that thesedays phil,a perfect example of how the beddy lurcher should look like, beautiful confirmation and stance, a real work horse oby the looks of it.
  20. had a few bedlingtonx greyhounds over the years, love them for daytime and nightime work, never owned a bedlingtonx whippet f1, but ibought abedlingtonx greyhound back to a bedlingtonx whippet in the early 90s for £50 advertised in the old shooting news, what a great dog he wasalways gave his best passed on at 12yrs of age, mate had a bedlingtonx whippet used to give tongue when outpaced but tremondous ferreting dog, think thats what put me off them, all the bedlington blood was from the rillington line, last beddyx ihad was from les robinson in brigg, who used the stag night line of whippet an
  21. just going on what a few of the irish boys have told me , if your bringing dogs from south to north you need a pet passport with all details including anti rabies and other jabs from a vet, if in the north transporting to uk asfar as i know no paper work required, could be totally wrong, sure the irish boys on this site will put the record straight, dont think couriers got a problem with transportation, cant really see how this legislation works to be honest.
  22. often see some nice looking lurcher pups, that look like they could do a bit being advertised by the irish boys, the prices they are charging for pups are wellbelow average uk prices, most of these pups parents will have been worked on most quarry, as iwell knowthat the irish lads are real passionate dog men, seen some damn good gundogs, terriers, and lurchers, come from the north and south of ireland, often thought about making the trip over to get a dog, but getting there and getting back wouldcost me far more than the price of the pups, what with ferry charges and transport costs, it would be

  25. just like you arry, all my young days at school were wasted, all i thought about all day, was getting home to get out ferreting and out with the dogs, majority of youngsters today, are not intrested in ferrets, dogs, snaring , lamping or any other country pursuits, ive got three grandsons one who used to be mad keen to come out ferreting and lamping with me, the other two were always good with the ferrets, but sadly not following in my footsteps, like you say arry, any of us old boys that know how ferret, how to make a purse net, poach a fish, work and train a good dog, are definetly a dying br
