Seen my old plummer terrier grow very old very quickly this year and at 12 i'm thinking about her going more and more and i'm thinking the same shall i do it or a pal?.You do whats best for yourself and the dog in these situations,be quick for the dog but also it's your last look at the dog so getting a mate to do it isn't a bad thing as long as the dog is pre occupied and not looking for you as such then all will be as well as it can be between you Jigsaw.Gutted for you and i know at times i'm far to soft for our life with working dogs but i wish you all the best and strength to you bud..

A bit different in that a bored collie might try to round up the kids,a bored acd x WILL destroy your house,p*ss off the neighbours and make you want a valium script.. They are clever dogs that thrive on difficulty, not abuse or a heavy hand as such but they just have that extra something and if they were a battery they'd be Durracells..

Or it could make her even shyer of picking up furry things?,give her time as i'm sure after a few kicks in the face from a big old rabbit she'll bite them harder to calm them down though..

Bloody good dogs from what i know,had a half x and she was all i ever wanted in a running dog but lost her at 11 months old but she'd taken a good bit of game in her short life,her brother was the best ferreting dog iv'e ever seen work and i know a few with them and they do all that's asked and a bit more.Not a dog for the novice and some will proper look after you if bother finds you out in the field,if the genuine acd's then go for it but don't expect to walk it and then lock it away in a run for the rest of the day as that's when your troubles will start..

My eyes tell me no lies so when i looked into a pit on a shoot and saw 4,000 partridges dumped in it,i knew what i was looking at wasn't due to my old LSD experimental days.. Most gun's won't have a good day unless they've killed something, like i say trespassers into the countryside if killing is all there there to do... And most guns on pegs are feckwits who can't tell the difference between a Thrush and a Redwing,more than enough are just trespassers in the countryside and are only in the fields to kill stuff.Countrymen they will never be and just because they throw money into a pot don't make them special cases as like i say most shouldn't be there.This money that's being chucked into shooting,they sorted the waste of game problem out yet or are they just carrying on like the last few years and dumping it ?,as long as the guns get their shots so all is good eh,ffs ?...

Iv'e owned a wolfhound and when i saw that last pic i thought it had some wolfhound blood in it,fare to say not just the bone but the over all build and shape looks very wolfhoundy.The bone on it's legs looks to heavy for deerhound imo,but what ever it is it's a nice looking youngster,well done on giving the poor thing a grand life in front of it and best of luck to...

First thing to ask is does your lad have a tool kit and does he know how to use one?,he'll be needing one and know how to use one with a old landy..

The engine unlike the ones in the ranger are ok as land rover only get the block and put oil pump etc on them selves,the transits that had that engine all got a recall on dodgy oil pumps but the rangers didn't and plenty are blowing up due to poor quality fans on the oil pump.Look on any ford ranger forum and your'll see a lot are going bang at 50,000 + or just when warrenty runs out and ford know about the pump issues but are doing feck all for ranger owners,no way would i ever own a 2012 _ late 2015 ranger no matter how little it cost as it will go bang one day...

Iv'e had old ford rangers for the last few years,for work (bulk bag,cement and mixer on the back no probs),for dogs and to either tow a boat or i put my little rib on the roof and chuck the engine etc in the back.Easy to work on,i had over 35 mpg out of my old mk1 one a motorway run and cheap bits and there worth the best part of a grand in spares if you break them right...Drove to kent yesterday and bought one as i wrote my old one off a month or so ago and happy enough with it,just check for back axle whine and head gasket issues and some mk3's had iffy 5th gear issues but they sorted that w

I personaly think that terriers or earth dogs in such conditioned condition will suffer when the going gets tough for a long time,i like a bit of substance to a fit earth dog as you just don't know how long it's going to down there and in mid winter in a wet cold earth that dog won't last but it'll still get the blame for jibbing or dying..To me it's not my thing in any way,but your happy with it so all's well bud.....
