  1. Have you given up on the Patterdales then Lee? The Border's seem to be making something of a comeback.
  2. Them front two are nice on the eye BigP. Is there much Bull in them?
  3. Love the look of 'Kenny', perfect build and size.
  4. I know a lad with the same problem. I'd imagine they're long sold out but, for whatever reason, the ad is still in.
  5. I wasn't crabbing the other breeds MM, I just think at this present time that the Patterdales/Fells are superior on a whole to anything else, so I fell lucky that I was dropped straight onto them. For example, I've got a good friend who is 20 years older than me, we both keep the exact same blood, but he says I'm lucky to have the blood so young whereas he had to mess about with various breeds before he came across this blood at a later age.
  6. I was lucky in that I never 'wasted' any years messing about with other breeds, I was straight in at the deep end with a black dog pup and learnt as I went along. Had some great times digging to the little black (and sometimes choc) dogs, hopefully with many more to come!
  7. Great post Steve. That's the type of input this forum needs, proper sound advice.
  8. Last I heard he had a top line of pure bred Russells on the go?
  9. No Dytkos, definitely late, be a tight squeeze to get pics in and sorted and a calender printed and distributed within the next 16 days I would think!
  10. Too late for that now Foxdropper, we're just about out numbered.
  11. Never imagined him to be a drinker tbh
  12. I know nothing of the man, in fact I keep blacks and the man kept whites, but like I say I've found it quite an easy read so far. I always prefer the books that expand beyond just the days out digging and give you an insight into how other lads go about their day to day routine. But you've got my curiosity Don, so come on, spill some beans.
  13. I got it last week, so far it's a good, easy read, 400+ pages so not just been thrown together, few good pics and has been produced by Harcombe so is in a much better format than Chapmans old books.
  14. Like has been said, the first was pretty ground breaking and was always going to be difficult to beat.
  15. I hope you find the right homes and you're doing the right thing. However be warned, check and re-check the lads that get them and try get them vouched for. A lot of people can talk the talk over the computer but are full of sh**e in reality. Good luck.
  16. If you want an earth working dog, save your money, time and tears and get a more conventional British breed.
  17. The smaller dog catches the eye Starting Out, both in great nick.
  18. Sounds like the dog's going great for you Fatman, if he's working steady already then it sounds like he could be a good 'un.
  19. It was a bit of a scruffy one mate , but the dog was being charged and the ground was pretty tough so I was just happy to get down. Note to self, must try harder.
  20. They're great tools. Get one bought you tight buggers...
