  1. He's on ebay. Could maybe email him that way? I met him over the Summer at Otley show, seemed a real decent bloke. One of the 'old school'.
  2. It's lovely when you stumble across them like that.
  3. 15-18 months has become the average starting age for the dogs I've got.
  4. I'd say the fly by night brigade, that expect every terrier to be an early starter, have passed through and the genuine men with patience and good understanding of a terrier have resurfaced. Like my mate says, a terriers working career is a marathon not a sprint. Ease them in gradually and you'll have a life time of digging the dog. It also depends on the man knowing the line well and knowing which things to look for in a terrier and to know when it's mature and ready. So in answer to your question, I'd say the late starter is becoming more prominent as the men breeding them ha
  5. I see Pepsi turned into a decent size for digging then DE? She's a nice looking bitch mind.
  6. If you consider Breay died in the 70's and is on one of these pics with a Great Grandson of Davy, then Davy could have been mid 60's at the latest? I can imagine a few 'dog sellers' have quoted this book over the years to shift a few pups.
  7. There's a pic of Buck holding the dog in Plummer's Fell Terrier.
  8. A lot of old tales of dogs are told in pubs. Say no more.
  9. Yeah I see what you mean. But I still think the black dogs all come from the same small gene pool. What's the chances that different groups of men were producing blacks in different parts of the country at near enough exactly the same time?
  10. But from what we read, Buck and Breay are the only ones mentioned. That must count for something?
  11. Is anyone struggling with trying to type responses on here? Almost everytime I try to write something the letters freeze as I'm trying to type. Annoying as f*ck!
  12. Are they the same way bred AT? Dog on the right is similar looking to my eldest dog .
  13. I thought kennels at first but then thought a dog would demolish all that wood in no time!
  14. I'm sceptical on that last quote tbh. If they see it regular it can't help. Surely?
  15. I know what you're saying Accip. I don't watch tv full stop never mind soaps (according to our lass I'm not normal!). But our children are having it rubbed in their faces every time they turn on the tv.
  16. Yes this is the sequel mate. Apparently this one was more glossy, thicker and with better pics than the first one. I rushed to order with not much change left from 50 quid. But tbh I'm disappointed, it's about the same thickness as the first with similar photos and layout. No interviews like the first had and no numbered book like I've already said. Never mind all these coursing books Darcy, where's the books for the diehard terrier fans?
  17. It's a disgrace. Even my mates at work notice it. Every soap has a pair of puffs or lesbos kissing, it's a fking disgrace. Who ever is at the top is promoting all this shit. And our poor kids are seeing it all and assuming it's normal. All part of destroying our great country. Multi culturism and homosexuals.
  18. Just received the new Darcy Hare and Swift Hound book, and fair play some good pics in. But on the site it says there's only 600 'limited edition', but there's no mention or marker of it in the book (21/600) etc. To me that's what getting a limited edition book is about, and it's taken something away from having the book IMO or at least that's how I feel.
