Not much room for Buck and lamp in back lol
chartpolski replied to bird's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
Like this one, Ray ? A bit impractical for a dog motor, but a nice pick up none the less ! Cheers. -
You must know him better than me if you think that. He gives dogs to lads that work them for free. You seem to have a hard on for me, I don't know why, I've never spoke to you , met you, or have a clue who you are.....but that's the Internet ! Cheers.

He's just offered to gift me a pure deerhound pup, no money involved with mates. Cheers.

How much are deerxgrey pups going for these days ? ? Cheers.

I had an early 80's Range Rover, built by Wood & Picket, every thing about it was non-standard, a bugger to get spares for. 3.5 litre petrol, did about 9 mpg , good job I had it in Saudi where I could fill the tank for about a fiver ! Cheers.

Excellent ? Congratulations ! Cheers.

Sadly, Boris hasn't walked away or ended the talks. Barnier will come to the U K next week to carry on the talks. Boris statement today was just bluster to try and hide the fact his deadline has passed and he didn't call off the talks. There will be a deal; Boris will say we won, and the EU will say they won, and we will carry on much as usual. Cheers.

Old B.S.A. Meteor my brother gave me to shoot rats at the allotment; A wipe over with an oily rag, new breach seal, and it's doing the job ! Cheers.

Good old Ivor ! Cheers.

As I expected, today's "deadline" will pass without any decisions. The EU , as usual, have just ignored the UK's threats to break off talks, and Boris is made to look a fool, or worse, a liar. Talks will resume after the EU Summit and will drag on until January, and I wouldn't be supprised if an extension is agreed, blaming Covid for the lack of progress. Boris should give the EU a firm date for a free trade agreement, and resort to WTO rules if theirs no agreement, but he won't. Cheers.

It's probably worth more untouched. I learned the hard way, trying to improve antiques. Cheers.

I'm a brexiteer, and I think Boris is our only chance of a clean break or an advantageous deal, but I also know about real politik and horse trading, so I won't celebrate until it's completely done ! I've a sneaky feeling that Boris will say we have an agreement on fisheries, we will have "full control", but he will let the EU have "quotas", but the quotas will turn out to be exactly the same as they are now, thus appeasing the French ! So, I'll expect the worst, but hope for the best. It's a sad fact that politicians are a duplicitous bunch ! Cheers.
-
Don't bet on it ! They are agreeing to a series of "mini deals" instead of one all encompassing deal, so it will drag on. Cheers.

There's probably not a lot of difference in their political aspirations. The right has given us Reagan, Bush Jr, Boris, Trump. The left has given us the Clintons, Obama, Corbyn, Brown. f**k their politics, I know which group I'd rather go on the drink with ! LOL ! Cheers.

Trump getting elected was very much like Brexit; The establishment and the media were against both, but, as usual, took the silent majority to be backward fools. "Normal" working class, blue collar types decided they didn't like being used and talked down to, so voted for change. The way the Remainers in the U.K. and the Democrats and lefties in America reacted with supprised outrage just goes to show they ain't half as clever as they think they are ! Cheers.

Godwins Law......... Cheers.

I know mate, but I just felt a little sad for him. Is he having the fight because he needs the money ? I know he was badly advised and ripped of financially all his career, not least by Don King. I liked him as a boxer, he brought an urgency and explosiveness to the game when the great old guard were just about finished, but I find it sad that one of the greats needs to make a comeback in his 50's, for whatever reason. Cheers.

Just watched Mike Tyson being interviewed on GMB, sad and embarrassing, he could barely speak, sounds like he's on drugs or punch drunk. Hes never been the best speaker, but this was sad. Cheers.

To quote the great big'yin ; "the desire to become a politician should bar you for life from ever becoming one ......don't vote for them, it only encourages them !" Cheers.

Something we should be very concerned about is the Met Police interviewing Darren Grimes, under caution, for a public order offence, namely "inciting racial hatred". His crime ? As a journalist, he interviewed Dr David Sharkey, and during the interview, Sharkey said the words "damn blacks"; take note, SHARKEY said the words, not GRIMES. Sharkey apologised, but was never interviewed, arrested or charged with any offence. Its interesting that Grimes was a major brexiteer, and he was charged with some spurious offence about funding and fined £20,000 ! The trumped up charges were t

I'm not on FB, and don't understand your reference to it. There IS a law in Saudi to report certain endangered species, what's the UK got to do with it ? If you think there's not taxidermists in the Middle East or Africa or Asia who would do a leopard, or any other species, then you are mistaken, once again, I wasn't talking about the UK . Cheers.

It's very well documented the people who had big cats back then. Most of them were the avant guarde lotus eaters of the time, or rich aristocrats . I wouldn't class either as the most sensible people. I mentioned previously a vet I knew who took on a lion cub, it was got rid of when it became unmanageable, both physically and financially, you'd have thought he would have guessed at the outcome, but sometimes the heart rules the head ! Cheers.
-
That would be my guess, and I stress, it's only a GUESS, Once the owner realised the huge cost of feeding, vet bills, housing, etc, and the fact their little bundle of fur was turning into a huge, unmanageable beast and they'd made a big mistake, releasing it would be the easiest thing to do. Big cats were very popular during the 60's and 70's until the wild animals act was introduced and Licenses and regulations came in. Cheers.

You can grow it on a window sill in a pot, but get seeds for growing, not the packets of seeds for cooking. I had no luck growing from the cooking seeds, then I was told they are treated and infertile. I now use the growing seeds, they are available in season from the likes of B&Q, Poundstretcher, etc. Or available from the likes of Sutton seeds online any time. Coriander is an absolute must for Indian curry, and for most Arabic dishes. Cheers.
