  1. It was the NZ guys who told me Croc was based on Crump mate . That would be well over 30 years ago. He had a small sheep station near Cambridge and as far as I can gather he grew a bit of gear aswell. Maybe crossed wires, or an amalgamation of a few of the characters down there Edited to add; Crump did spend a few years in Australia hunting crocodiles. Cheers.
  2. I think American law enforcement have been banned from shooting the tyres of fleeing vehicles as they were getting too much “collateral damage”. They are only allowed to shoot if they think lives will be in danger or for self defence. Cheers.
  3. No, I never met him, but read most of his books, they were the most stolen library books at one time, evidently Cheers.
  4. Plummer was a writer, and a good one. He had us all enthralled as youngsters with his tales, but the vast majority were just that….tales ! There was a very similar guy in New Zealand called Barry Crump, he wrote great books about hunting , his book called “A Good Keen Man” about Government deer, pig and goat cullers is an excellent read. The Crocodile Dundee character was based on him. When I mentioned him to pig hunting lads in NZ they all laughed and said all his experience was gained in a pub talking to real hunters, but he was a good bloke. That reminded me of when Plumme
  5. Yeah, they wear them down and the hare resorts to running in tighter and tighter circles and is basically swamped by the hounds. I haven’t seen a lot killed but that the impression I got. More experienced beaglers may have a different view Cheers.
  6. There may be something in what you say, MAY BE ! I don’t know, I’m just guessing. It’s a fact big ears dissapate the heat in the blood by having the veins near the skins surface and covering more area. Would this help animals that run long distances and need stamina to catch their quarry ? Possibly. Dogs with “rosebud” ears, like whippets and greyhounds rely on relatively short bursts of tremendous speed and acceleration so MAYBE don’t need to dissapate quite as much heat ? Who knows, I’m just speculating. As for beagles, a lad I went to school with was Master of Newca
  7. I’m just going by the short video on the news. The car reverses then goes forward and there’s an Officer standing in front of it. Cheers.
  8. It looked like the officer in front of the vehicle had his weapon drawn. I don’t know which one shot her. Cheers.
  9. Corbyn has said it was a”facist murder” Cheers.
  10. Looks like she drove her car at them. Cheers.
  11. I got seed propagators, heat mats, seeds and this book amongst my Xmas presents Cheers.
  12. Apparently a Russian sub was on the surface watching events unfold but didn’t interfere. Cheers.
  13. Seems like IanB has lost interest in updating it and moderation is non-existent. Cheers.
  14. They’ve taken another ship in the Caribbean aswell. Cheers.
  15. Garlic is coming on well, taken them off the heat and lights. Got show leeks, onions and cabbages on the heat and lights now. Built a couple of “plant pagodas “; Growing season seems to be starting earlier each year ! Cheers.
  16. Air rifle ? About 10feet away, off their roost, with a catapult Cheers.
  17. The US already has bases in Greenland Cheers.
  18. Maybe they are heading to Downing Street ? More likely a staging point for Iran . Cheers.
  19. I agree, at least they were. There used to be a consensus that there were three major ethnicities or races; caucasoid, mongoloid and negroid. Caucasoids were mainly European but also included Middle Eastern, Central Asian and Persians and people from northern India. My opinion is, and I emphasise it’s just MY opinion, is that the vast majority of people north of the Pyrenees were white. The people of Iberia, Greece etc had or have a big influx of North African and Turkish , ( Ottoman), blood, so can’t be considered as true Caucasians. I await the outrage from our southern Eu
  20. He may LIKE the UK, but he puts America first and foremost. If it came to our interests or Americas interests, he’d abandon us like a worn out shoe, and I don’t blame him, Len. Allways put your own first. Cheers.
  21. I don’t think Trump has our, or Europes , interests at heard, but I do think he has Americas interests at heart. I think that ANY government should have their OWN country’s interested at heart, but sadly Starmer and his government don’t seem to agree with me We shouldn’t have to rely on Trump to take care of our country; that’s our government’s job, but they aren’t doing it……. Cheers.
  22. You could see VV’s head drop when Littler moved up a gear. VV has got the skill but lacks the bottle just now. He’s number three in the world now, I think, so it’s great to see some young blood like Littler and Van Veen up there, but I did have a bit of a hope that Anderson would have a bit of a last hurrah and make it to the final, but he was never going to beat Littler, the stats were against him . Cheers.
  23. For me, it’s a binary choice; democracy, ( and remember, Churchill said democracy was the least bad form of government), or dictatorship. Im for democracy, at least we get a vote and can, theoretically, get rid of a government we don’t like, but with a dictatorship, they get rid of us that don’t like them ! Thats my very simple view of it. Cheers.
  24. Ask any Fabian you may know if they still believe in eugenics and watch their reaction, it’s either complete confusion because they don’t know their history or they just go mental and call you a Nazi ! Its good fun, honestly Cheers.
