  1. We still give over £12 billion a year in foreign aid to countries including nuclear powers with space programs like Russia, China, India and Pakistan, but won't extend the free school meals into the holidays....... Cheers.
  2. So, resorting to "reductio ad absurdum", I get the feeling we are being told ; Right Wing = stupid.....Left Wing = clever. Although, being right wing myself , I might be to stupid to understand what I'm reading. Cheers.
  3. I think the Muscovy is the only domesticated duck not descended from the mallard. Cheers.
  4. Over £215,000 of the corona relief money given to the Arts Council has been given to a solo drag artist in Brighton........ https://order-order.com/page/2/ Go figure. Cheers.
  5. Thing is, we HAVE left the E U, it's just the trade deal that's to be sorted. We will know by the end of December one way or another, trade deal or WTO rules, like most of the world. I think the heads of the individual EU countries have finally realised that we are not bluffing about "no deal" and are starting to think about their own interests. Even Barnier has started making conciliatory noises now that we told him not to come back unless they move from their intransigent position. For the first time we are putting the U K first, unlike those Quislings Cameron and May ! C
  6. "Young Wilf headed off to Limerick; And soon became a plastic Mick; Now his face wears a frown; As the old town goes into lockdown; And now he feels such a p**** ! " Sorry , Wilf , couldn't help it ! No offence meant, mate! Cheers.
  7. My grandson is five, I haven't seen him for over a year as he is in lockdown in Saudi because of Covid. Yeah, we talk daily on the pc, but it's not the same. Hes very busy with his horse and his swimming and karate lessons, but I miss taking him to the allotment with the dogs, feeding the hens and ducks, eating tomatoes straight off the vine. They grow up so quick, a year makes a big difference, I hope this lockdown ends sooner rather than later. Cheers.
  8. I voted Labour all my life until I realised what a shithouse Blair was ! I voted for Boris, (rather than the Tory's), at the last election, for two reasons; 1; he seemed the most likely to get Brexit done. 2; I couldn't bring myself to vote for a terrorist supporting, anti Semitic, Britain hating, communist old tramp. I hold the vast majority of politicians of all parties in the same utter contempt. Cheers.
  9. Yes, he had a distinguished military career, unusual for a Labour MP these days. He sounds a sensible sort of chap. A career before politics unlike most politicians. Cheers.
  10. Once again, I agree. Regions need and should get central government help on a case by case basis. BUT, Dan Jarvis, Labour MP and mayor of Sheffield, has just accepted the package for South Yorkshire without the posturing, petulant, party politics of Burnhan. Cheers.
  11. South Yorkshire has just moved into tier three, another step towards a national lockdown piece by piece ! Cheers.
  12. At least the track and trace is trying to save lives, although I have absolutely no faith in it. What a coincidence that track and trace is costing almost exactly the same, £12 billion, that we give in foreign aid, and the amount we are still giving to the EU. I would have declared a halt to both of them until we get the pandemic under control. Cheers.
  13. I agree, but I don't think the Mayor should set the figure and assume his area is worth more than the others. To me, its party politics, pure and simple. Also I go by the old saying " to many cooks spoil the broth.", we voted the government in they should be allowed to govern, but they are making a right mess of it bartering and arguing with a local mayor ! If every mayor made the decisions for their area we wouldn't have a clue what was going on, and they would all demand more money and concessions than their neighbors to show that they " really cared" for THEIR people. Politic
  14. I despise anyone playing party politics while people are dying of this pandemic. But Labour are playing a blinder ! Burnhan demands more money for Greater Manchester than the other areas got, and when the Government refuse, all the Labour MP's are screaming that Boris hates the North ! How is a Mayor allowed to hold the Government to ransom ? Give him what he wants, and it becomes a bidding war between regions ! The Tory's are making a right mess of this by inflicting a lock down piecemeal, instead of a national lockdown. Im all ready hearing people in "the Red Wall" s
  15. I was confused when some of the scots lads were calling me and Northernlite "Jack and Victor" . I thought they meant Victor Meldrew, until they told me about "Still Game " ! An excellent show.........and they weren't far wrong ! LOL ! Cheers.
  16. I think they are terrified to go for total lockdown, so they are doing it bit by bit and hoping we don't notice ! Cheers.
  17. It also proves Biden lied about not meeting the Ukrainian. He denied ever meeting him but the emails prove he did ! The Ukrainians gave his son a $50,000 a month job in an industry he knew nothing about, as reward for the meetings with his dad, the then Vice President. It stinks, like all politics. Cheers.
  18. Wearing a face mask is a different kettle of fish to downloading the test and trace app ! I wear a mask when shopping because it may, I'm not to sure, protect me, and it ain't really a big inconvenience. But I sure as f**k don't want the authorities knowing my every move ! At first I kept forgetting my mask, but now I put it on almost automatically, bit like when the seat belt laws came in. Im in the high risk group because of my age, so social distancing, washing my hands, wearing a mask may or may not save my life, but I'll do it just in case. The police knowing my
  19. To mis-quote Niemolller; "First they came for the Covid sufferers- but I didn't speak out, as I didn't have Covid, Then they came for the drug takers- but I didn't speak out, as I didn't take drugs, Then they came for the lampers and the coursers- but there was no one left to speak out for me and you ........" Cheers.
  20. Don't know about that, but I said from the start of this tracking 'phone app that I wouldn't have it, because I didn't want the police knocking on my door, asking why I was hundreds of miles away from home, in the middle of a field, at two o'clock in the morning ! As Littlejohn said; "Give someone power, and they will abuse it...give someone absolute power, and they will absolutely abuse it " ! Cheers.
  21. Well, who didn't see that coming ? The police have been given access to test and trace data. Whatever happened to doctor/patient confidentiality? Cheers.
  22. This pick up might attract some unwanted attention with a dog and lamp in the back ! Cheers.
  23. How very dare you ! Thats "Lynx Africa" I'll have you know ! ? ! Cheers.
  24. Holden Ute SS, 6 litre v8. I think it holds the lap record around Nurburgring for a pick up. Cheers.
  25. Got to get your priorities right, mate ? Cheers.
