    Good going. I was out Thursday on a site I can almost guarantee a fox or 2 and very quiet, perhaps they have all headed your way!

    Shot in the dark, muck in a port blocking/reducing air flow from reservoir??? If the gun has always been filled by a pump there is certainly and increased possibility of dirt/damp/rust ingress into reservoir!

    I'm not following that, OK, mistakes can be made by the ill informed, but the season is the season, the owner can't change that, and all round I suggest it is best not to condone or promote breaching the seasons. It doesn't do any of us any favours in any situation, and especially on a Public shooting forum.

    It probably means the Pheasant season doesn't start until 1st October!

    Perhaps I'm getting old but I don't get why this is apparently unusual/noteworthy! I most commonly call the fox myself, works as well as anything and always did in the past, and the batteries don't run out.

    Frankly so am I. Mine used to leak air from the reservoir seals, and despite BSA having 3 goes at fixing it they never could properly. Apparently this is still full and not leaking.

    Exactly, one caliber is NOT better than another, a .308 (or anything with Mr Ackleys name on it) is NOT better than a 12ft lb air rifle if you need to shoot pigeons at Tesco meat counter! They are different, and each caliber has its uses!

    Is there any chance you can stop reading and get some experience? When do you actually plan on getting a FAC?

    Where do you get this stuff? The debate will not continue forever, because the .223 and 22-250 are different, and will therefore be best suited for different applications/situations, even though there is an area of crossover. So a 22-250 (circa 3500-4200FPS) kills better than a 50 BMG API 647 gr FMJ because that's only 2750FPS. As for margins of error, the SLOWER 50BMG wins hands down again. The real world is not about turning the pages in a book and regurgitating words out of context.

    I always wonder about airgun only, most rimfire are for more gentle than a springer!

    Never actually gone out to catch eels but have caught at least 2 without trying. I believe lots of waterways hold them!

    Those scopes look ok but I have no knowledge of them. A longer term report would be good after you have used it a while!

    Never snared squirrel myself, livetrap or Fenn usually does enough for me. Shoot a few of course as well!

    I boil with a fair bit of salt in the water and I think it adds to the flavour, still don't taste like they come out of the sea!
