  1. I'm with some of the OP sentiments, nothing wrong with these if you want some fun on the range, but I've seen wannabee Rambo's in the field with them and personally think that's dumb!
  2. No No No! That's not right, trying to turn a meat eater into a Veggie!
  3. Pigeons gone silly this year, never had so much grief, weeds also doing well!
  4. I didn't know that! My old Airsporter likes them, hardly ever used these days but gets the odd few down it from time to time! Just ordered another tin.
  5. I had a Premier with .177 and .22 barrels. Not sure what the difference is/was to the Senior, certainly look similar! I "guess" the Eley Wasps performed best as they were closest to a proper .22, good performance anyway at over 5ft lb.
  6. What ammo, is that the FMJ stuff? I have been known to check my HMR V-Max on the odd fence post, I tend to make sure they are fairly decent wood first so they don't go right through!
  7. Worktops (chipboard) will break up, probably best to shoot at the wood side rather than laminated side if you have to. Sand is the standard/go to back stop on most external ranges, but they tend to have a rather large bank of the stuff. Must be me but I don't understand if you have a 100 yard range why you can only shoot to 85yards!
  8. First time I've ever seen it, fully uniformed police officer and wildlife police officer, wondering around the lake today checking licences.
  9. We've been out a handful of times, he also came to Bisley with me as well, goes back a while though! I'll give him a call!
  10. ???? I go back a long way with him but didn't know he was into these. A quick word seems in order!
  11. What is fiddling? Where do you draw the line, they all go out canvasing to try and sway your vote, they all promise the earth if they win, they all sit outside the polling station, they offer lifts to voters, they all slag off each other, etc etc. Yes, they all try to fiddle it any way they can!

    WARS COMING

Why the **** can't the world learn to live together!?
  13. The GL are dribbling back, they have been tweaked, tightened up, and more defined. Fact is we are our own worst enemy, far too many people will still think...…………...its on the GL so we can shoot it! That was never the case, still isn't, and what gave Packham the ammunition to cause this grief in the first place. Hopefully there is more awareness of the GL conditions now, but I'm convinced the old attitude will raise its head again.
  14. Three new general licences for the killing or taking of wild birds in England will be issued at 00:01 on Friday 14 June. The recent call for evidence demonstrated a range of impacts that individuals and groups experienced as a result of the revocation of licences GL04, 05 and 06, including crow attacks on lambs and ewes during lambing, the risk of predation for eggs and fledglings of birds of conservation concern, and public health issues caused by pigeons in urban areas. A summary of the evidence and the government response will be published shortly. The new licences will allow users to
  15. For clarity, I didn't find this or remove the nest, I arrived on a clients site today and was presented with this and asked what could have done it! Cheers!
  16. Closest Glis Glis I've found is 20 miles north of this location!
  17. This is apparently an old Blackbird nest, it was approx. 6feet from the ground and has been removed as you can see. Inside was found the Kumquat as shown. Looks like the outside is largely removed and left whilst the inside gone/eaten! There are no squirrels in the area, and the edges of the single Kumquat shown seems to be showing beak marks rather than teeth...I could be wrong.... the big question, what would take Kumquot into and old nest to store/eat it? Cheers
  18. Quite, if actually says things are being delayed and its frustrating and BASC are trying! Carry on by all means within the terms of the latest GL's and Individual personal applications as required!
  19. A moderator on any firearm where the bullet is faster than the speed of sound will only ever have an effect on the propellant crack. Wildcat Moderators were always pretty decent on centrefires but have never really transferred this to their rimfire moderators. The Panther is expensive as you mention, but I think I'm right in saying it can be purchased as a 17 Specific mod, this may give it an edge on some which are commonly 22/17. I'd be interested to hear myself if anyone has one and can give it an impartial review! HMR ammo is all faster than the speed of sound so you will get a so
  20. Ok, I'm thinking about investing in a new FAC Multishot .22 PCP. To run circa 25-30ft lb. I'm after an accurate, reliable, workhorse, this is a working tool, not an ornament. Not really looked at them for a long while, suggestions please...oh yes, as economical as possible without compromise of effectiveness/quality! Cheers
  21. We're not allowed to complain about that!!!!
  22. Mine is circa 2000 and FAC. I have an indexing/magazine turning issue, and now it seems a leak from the quickfill adaptor at the end of the reservoir. I suspect the gun could do with a good service. Anyone know who works on them these days, preferably as near Reading as possible, but if needs must I'll have to travel. Cheers!
