.223 scope to 600 yards?????????????
Deker replied to Deker's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Cheers, but I would hope that would be fair, I believe its about £850. The Vortex Viper 6.5 x 20 x 50 is about half that price and right at the top of the budget for my club! -
There are a lot there and after a cursory glance Im not following the logic of them all, perhaps a deeper look is required!

.223 scope to 600 yards?????????????
Deker replied to Deker's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Ok, the Vortex Viper 6.5 x 20 x 50 seems to be on the shortlist, but I've nevr seen through one, what is it like at the top end, x20? Everyone is different and I have no issue with 8-12x out to 600 yards but several in the club will think 20 is a bit low, but if it works well there and not all milky/hazy then I sould be able to make the case. Any ideas about the cause and more specifically how to cure it, will I need to cut out the areas? Seems a real pain whatever. Cheers

My guess is somewhere along some of those lines. Best I can tell the existing paint was vinyl matt purple, under this is a very light green which I suspect was original paintwork and also seems matt. My suspicions are, at the new build time, joint skim went over the joints and damaged plasterboard and the walls were painted when everything was still damp. There is no way the developer ever put anything like a sealing/mist coat on any of the walls first. Just shows the rubbish job developers do, house is circa 20 years old. I have had vast area of the house skimmed as pa

?????? It is common practice to dilute emulsion paint, it even says you can do it up to 10% on the instructions on the Dulux tin. It helps with paint flow, especially in hot conditions. It is not uncommon for the trade to dilute it much more than 10%, it can reduce the orange peel effect of some paint when using a roller quite dramatically and give a much better finish.

Background. Painting walls in Bedroom, they were purple and that way when I moved in, walls are dry lined. Thought I would start with a coat or two of Dulux Brill White Matt to help obscure the purple as they will be end up an off white Ivory type of colour. Dulux diluted about 10% with water as so hot, applied first coat on Sat and walls bubbled in parts. Rubbed down the areas yesterday , bubbles did not burst but went "nearly" flat again, just applied another coat of Dulux and bubbles all back. Any ideas about the cause and more specifically how to cure, will I need to cut o

It isn't only my experiences that count, it is the experiences of many here who have actually done it, and seen it, we don't read about it and then pretend to be an expert like someone on here does! Your comments are so predictably from something you read it is unreal. That is my final word on the matter to you, so feel free to enlighten me with yet another comment you read somewhere, I'll not be responding.

Important Changes To Medical Information Information notice - Changes to Medical Information You are now required to provide medical information verified by a GP for all firearm and shotgun applications - this includes renewals. This applies to any application, whether declaring a medical condition or not. The change is being implemented to enable the Police to make informed decisions which will protect both the shooting community and the wider public. The ch

I need to look into it deeper, I get the impression they (TVP) have a form they want your doctor to complete......I may be off the mark here, not read it all yet, I have a few years before renewal. I think this "may" apply to variations as well. Please don't quote me on the detail yet, I don't want to send the rumour mill into overdrive.
-
TVP sent out a bulletin a few weeks ago saying they require medical reports for renewals and grants now! PITA, and they concede it isn't law but their specific requirement, and no report no ticket!

Alsone, it isn't a secret we have history, and idiots with no FAC who come out with crap they read somewhere really piss me off. How often have you ever shot a fox, let alone found one in a hen house/pheasant pen? Answer NEVER! I should say you never cease to amaze me, but with virtually nil experience, and quoting crap you heard/read somewhere you don't!

Have you seen the Swedish girls team? Half time now so on to Glastonbury for a few mins, stables are full of activity now so now chance of any work!

..………...anyway, been over to Swindon today and was meant to go on to Oxford, but that was cancelled at very last minute. Watching some of the Women's World cup, lets be honest, a few years back the women were a bit of a joke, but I am amazed, Ger/Swe is actually worth watching!

At the moment I can't argue with that.

The story is always bigger than the question, I simply need advice on the original post!

Certainly an idea, but as above, I'm not getting paid enough to go there every day and bait, maybe worth seeing if they could though!
-
I'm not prepared to check it regularly, they are not paying me enough, and they certainly will not, Larsen is a non starter sadly! I have told them it is a good option for them, but was greeted by a look that said it all!

I'm having a devil of a job getting rid of the last 2 magpies at a stables, they have decimated the Swallows nests in the stable block, both eggs and fledglings, but the swallows are doing their best. Larsen's are a no no on site, delicate disposition of horse owners. I can only shoot round the stable block itself when its clear of horses and owners, and there are dense woods immediately adjoining the site where the Magpies seem to reside. I hear them regularly but I'm damned if I can ever find them in the woods. I've been in this game a long time but would welcome any general s

I hear what you say, and there lies the difference between Pest Control and Sport, I shoot 100% pest control, there is obviously some satisfaction in a job well done, but I would NEVER say ….. It was good to see this much activity in an area that was showing NO rabbits in April / May My clients would favour a NIL rabbit presence permanently!

we got about 40 odd, most dropped on a flat roof and in a fenced off area Its going to get very smelly very quickly in this weather round that roof!

You don't do this very often do you! This is a very common area I have to deal with, people keep a few chickens at home, almost as pets, the children commonly look after them and are usually first to notice the carnage in the morning and get all upset. That's when I get a call from distressed parents, they also commonly say just what you have, and add they have cleared up the mess and remaining bodies, only for me to tell them to put them back. The fox will be back the following day in 90%+ of cases to collect the rest, he will take everything he can, what he can't actually bury he

"I hate hearing folks talk about foxes like scum" Just there, folks is plural, that is more than one. Your comments were indicative of several rather than singular!
