Your top 3 Spring rifles and top 3 pcp rifles ?
Jonjon79 replied to mark williams's topic in General Airgun Discussion
I've had a lot more PCPs than springers but, from personal experience............... 1. HW100 .177 There just isn't a better all round PCP at the moment. 2. Kalibrgun Cricket .177 A super solid little hunting rig. 3. AA S510/410 .177 Simple, reliable, no frills accuracy. Honourable mention. Impact GSX100 .177 Light, accurate, well made. A difficult decision to put it into 4th place. 1. TX200hc .177 In my humble opinion, AAs best springer and, in a carbine package - whats not to like? 2. HW30 .177 it may only put out 6 - -
I reckon I could get rid of that in under 10 minutes The Turkish kebab house down the road from me does a nice doner.

Very nice Jeff Have you been giving driving lessons in exchange for computer lessons? -
I agree with the other comments on here Rob - He'll feel an improvement from just a good strip, clean, polish and relube. Tell him to shoot it like that for a while then, if he still wants to experiment further, he can look at things like lighter spring guides and piston extensions. If he wants to get really technical, there's some excellent info on Tony Leaches 'Lost Volume' Facebook group.

From Horsham in the next couple of days? Light coloured. 10 months old.
-
Off down to the woods before first light for some squirrel and pigeon, hopefully a couple of rabbits. Then home by mid day to crack open a couple of beers and start cooking the curry.
-
Merry Christmas to you and yours Renos Let's hear some more about your standing shots in the new year Atb mate

I'm going to cook a rolled sirloin beef joint and a chicken. This'll be the first year that we haven't bothered with turkey. This'll also be the first year that it'll be just the 3 of us - little 'uns mates will pop over in the afternoon but, I'm looking forward to a slow relaxing day with some good food
-
Haven't seen that picture for a while I say pictures of the mews but, it's the birds that I really want to see We sometimes see Red Kites round here and, once last summer, I came out of the woods and there was a big brown hawk looking bird sat on the gate - it took off as soon as it saw me, the wing span was huge. I've no idea what it was but, it was a beautiful looking bird and, I was pleased that I got to see it.

Nice one Jeff I agree with Mark mate - I'd like to see that Excalibur and the mews
-
I've got some diced and minced goat in the freezer. I'd never had it before so I thought I'd give it a whirl. I'm thinking curried goat on boxing day. I made a shepherds pie with some of the mince - it was nice, a bit like lamb but a weaker flavour and less oily. I like it.
-
Nice one Oz The dog sounds keen as mustard.
-
Corr, feckin 'orrible little rat - I'd be tempted to shoot him and try to help the pigeon .......... I can be a soft twat like that sometimes.
-
f**k me mate, that's a proper pisser, especially at this time of year Good luck and atb

Some rifles can have the mag put in with an empty chamber - I do this with a couple of mine, then dry fire before I set off. Then, I'll cock it when I spot an opportunity. Either that or, like Si says, an HW100 is a fantastic hunting rifle and, it can't be double loaded. A single shot PCP is a bit more fiddly when out but, it might serve your purpose well.

They're a good bunch mate, I moan about them sometimes but, they are a nice lot. ......... I got them all Ouija boards They loved them - they all said they'll have a go with them over Christmas. I can't wait to hear the stories You can always use a decent flask mate
-
I'm pretty sure that I'm not getting anything shooting related this Christmas - the missus wouldn't know what to buy unless I was very specific. We had the works Christmas meal a few nights ago - that lot got me some shooting stuff .......... A metal pellet catcher and a load of 14cm targets, a game cook book and a Nerf gun Si, you're a lucky fecker with that HW35 mate ....... Nice one Jimmy

I don't do credit cards and, I like to think the alcohol is helping to preserve me as I creep into middle age
-
I've never really liked the idea of a wrap on my barrels or stocks - although it looks like you've got the wrap on well Jimmy, I'm definitely not a fan of the pattern mate. If you're putting it on as protection for the metalwork or, just for something different, I reckon a matt finish, dark camo pattern would work better with the black stock. Atb

.22 FN12 single shot - they're fantastic rifles Phil Good solid, simple engineering and, as accurate as anything else I own. I fill to 160/170bar and get 40/45 good shots. Once you get used to it, it's fairly easy to load in the dark.

Welcome aboard mate Any form of bow hunting is illegal in the UK. Shotguns and rifles require a license. Are rifles are probably the easiest way to hunt small game - no license required but, you will need permission from a land owner to hunt on their land, otherwise it's armed trespass - also illegal. There's a few points to consider but, don't let it put you off. Good luck.
-
Sod that ....... I'll stick with the usual Christmas traditions, they're much less painful.
-
Welcome aboard Nick Cracking pictures mate.
-
You'll find them in most places - f**k 'em. Welcome aboard
