  1. Hmmm interesting but of info on the net, this little gun is a Diana model 16. I know there was some connection to a Milbro but it was a very long time ago. There is some interesting stuff on the net and although I need to check it out, Chambers carry some spares for the 16 so it could be very handy possibly a new spring etc.
  2. Cheers Si. I am going to try again to contact Milbro if they are still trading because I am pretty sure they were part of, or taken over by Daiwa. It is only out of interest really. I spoke to my son earlier and told him about the gun, it also took him straight back to those early days 40 years ago. Phil
  3. A left hooker Sean, didn't realize you were a south paw. They do look superb in the photos but I have never actually seen one in the flesh so to speak. I have heard they are amazing in fac as well. Certainly looks to business, me likey likey Phil
  4. Following my delight when my pal turned up with the Gat pistol for me a few weeks ago, he popped in for a coffee today and handed me a seriously rusted 'thing' saying no idea what the hell it is but do you want it. I knew straight away what it was, a Milbro (Diana) .177 junior rifle which I bought for my son back around 1978 - 81. If my memory serves me correctly, they were either made in Scotland or shipped from Scotland. Now boys this is where you come in because I want to bring it back to life (oh Jimmy, where are you mate) but also to identify what the model is. This rifle is very low
  5. I am with you Simon, one of the worst pellets I have used to the point that no gun would group well. It is strange that RWS produce superb .22LR rimfire ammo which are sooooo accurate it makes me wonder how they cannot produce a decent pellet. Phil
  6. I know I too I have my cataract removed, my right eye is knackered but even when it is done, I prefer looking into the screen. I tried a ATN and felt dizzy when I moved the scope away from my eye. Just don't like them. Phil
  7. 100% agree deker , there are some cracking HW100 variant which will save you at least £200-300 as a friend of mine did last year and the gun was mint so you don't need to blow £800 for a 100. Have a look on the forum sales section and just keep watching or even put up a wanted notice on there. Phil
  8. Enforcer decoys produce a bouncer pigeon which is so good, we no longer use Flappers or magnets and are about to launch a set of crow deeks which my pal has on order so we will see what they are like. Phil
  9. Possibly my old post. If you are able to leave the hide up for a week or longer, try it but I should have said you need to use guy ropes to ensure the wind doesn't pull it apart.
  10. You have two options really, but some crappy new gun from Gamo or Walther or save up to buy a decent gun. as said earlier, there are some excellent second hand rifles of a higher quality than a new one at £500 and you may well have a scope fitted for your budget. as an example, my son in law is going to sell his BSA Ultra XL, 2 mags with scope, bag and a 3lt air cylinder and whip tip for £500. The only reason I say this is because he told me this morning. whatever you do ,look for second hand and get a better outfit. Phil
  11. I shoot a fair number of crows every year and found the best method is to put a hide up a couple of days before shooting as they are very smart with keen eye sight so full camo as you do in the photo and they will be used to the hide. I normally do this, shoot then leave it for two of three days, then back on them. It works for me and in some places we have set up permanent hides using old army tank netting and always use 10 full body decoys in flocked finish which are way better than hard plastic and shell deeks. Phil
  12. A few years ago Terry I was shooting at my club when the owner passed over a .410 o/u along with a couple of boxes of Fiocci 3" cartridges. A few shots saw the clays break Very well so I texted it on the skeet range which are fast crossing birds if you are not a clay shot. Not easy at first but soon got used to the difference and I was away, seriously enjoyed it but have to be careful not to over lead the target. My pal has just bought a new 20 bore o/u which has me wanting a .410 o/u as there are some really good value for money being brought into the UK market from both Turkey and Italy
  13. I think we were talking of Saturday Jimmy when you, Si and myself were talking a few weeks ago. It will be good to see you and Jess again Jamie. Phil
  14. Not going to bother, some of us are going to the Northern Shooting Show in Harrogate, May. Very good show Phil
  15. Last night we met up with the land owner of this new little perm and took him out with us. My buddy took one field and myself and the land owner, the other. Very little about and all at distance, the first dropped at 82mt, the second at 41mt and the third at 69mt. Long shadows from street lights really make stalking tricky to say the least and perhaps because of age, I am not sitting on cold ground although I just bought a shooting cushion, the type you fill with polystyrene balls so maybe I will sit it out in future. The wind got up after half an hour making the shots harder but my
  16. I can't help you with the fault you have but I have heard of this before. Welcome to another Lincolnshire lad, there aren't too many of us on here. Where abouts are you based Pete. Phil
  17. Thanks Smithie but only recently bought my HW110k so it will have to wait a while. Phil
  18. I am more toward the the s200 as I had a T200 target rifle which was only 6fpe but stunning to shoot. One day I will get another 200 mk1 or 2 with the split stock and fit a multi shot mag. Ratworks do a lovely upgrade which I would indulge my gun with. Phil
  19. Just been through that article and hats off to the man for the work done, it is so far away from anything I could do and only wish I was actually capable of doing that sort of engineering and woodwork. Phil
  20. I have to say Rez, I do like those, never thought of a side lever. Phil
  21. It will take a big fella to cock a bullpup springer. You will be fine though Jimmy but me.........well I suppose I could get a pal to help. ? Phil
  22. That's the man Sean, cheers mate.
  23. They are no lightweight first of all. My RFD has taken two in and had the Blueprinted by the designer of BSA super10 and R10 but my memory has gone and cannot remember his name. The rifles are quite something now I am told. Come on boys, what is his name. Anyway at £150 I would buy it and either have it Blueprinted or tuned by Ratworks. Phil
