Roasties , I peel and boils red spuds with salt , then drain and leave to dry out and salt, then rattle around the pot a bit to rough them up add more salt , then heat oil and lard/dripping in oven about 200/220 add the spuds and place in oven with some basting and turning for an hour, remove onto kitchen roll and season with some salt. Never fail tbh can even boil previous day .

Had a look at a new permission today meet landowner and walk around type thing, thought I might as well take some ferrets, lots there and a few big Warren's that I didn't fancy tackling without an extra pair of hands or dog (my dog resting up after an injury) there was 2 bonfire piles in the fields that had Warren's underneath so longnet round them for a quick 5 landowners came and watched they enjoyed it all in all a nice morning out and tapped it up for a few bigger days

Called out at 9,30 last night back in at 6 this morning 11 small trees down n over roads n on cars was a busy night, ( if you get called out on a week day you get the next day off shit out on a Saturday night ha )

In both my cases, my granny an my ma we knew they where both terminal an knew it was coming, so I was in a position to be able to put me life on hold both times for a bit, so said fcuk it I’ll do it, glad I did even tho it near broke me watching it happen bedside, other family members weren’t in sane position sn I don’t hold it against anybody, it’s what we done for them in life that important imho, cos death comes so swift an out the blue more times than not but like I say we knew time was coming an I decided to hang about an say bye, even tho I prob done more for both them whilst they alive

Let’s have it right, in reality unless you are sat by someone’s bedside day and night then your popping in a few hours weekends and maybe a couple of hours in the week…..you can go and have a full weekend from Spain any time you want and it’s better quality because you’re at f**k all else. Yes, airports are f***ing howling, yes getting lifts or car hire sorted is a pain in the arse, yes air travel wrecks you but for actual time spent it’s unbeatable. I brought my mum over with me when I came, ironed out ten grand getting her sorted and set up in a place of her own on my little farm…

No mate, she collapsed outside the local and a wee lass came running in and screamed for me to help, in a bar full of people she came to me. I ran outside, put her in the recovery position and had my fingers on her pulse for what seemed like eternity. Pulse was slow and I was just waiting for it to stop... Ambulances came and I moved away. It's not nice having someone's life in your hands and it's even worse waiting for them to die so you can at least do something. She's alright now.... I'm not!
