  1. Something that will throw up to 30g will probably do a good all round job, the lighter you go the more fun you will have with the smaller fish
  2. Don't think I've ever come across a telescopic rod that was ok, other than a 15ft grauvell beachcaster that only compacted down to 4ft anyway! A standard 6ft 4 piece spinning rod compacts down to very little, they travel very well. I've been eyeing up some cheap ones on sovereign superbaits website that will probably be up your street
  3. If it was me I'd go palmswell with the existing yew but I'm sure any of those will look bloody awesome. I had a couple of fish hunters they were basic but good, compact. He did an ergo design that looked great, never used one first hand though
  4. A Daiwa spinmaster 4 piece 6ft. Classed as a UL rod but a little unresponsive tbh, but great for mucking about with, goes anywhere.
  5. Like that a lot, can't wait to see it come to life! Will you be putting a bit of a palmswell on it?
  6. Not fitted one personally but bought one with it fitted, and it shoots lovely. Pellet on pellet at 20yds and very smooth to cock very little recoil. On inspection the v mach parts are very well made
  7. My mates grandad had it happen with a mink, killed the late ate nothing then buggered off!
  8. P.s. It is currently focused to 25yds via the side parallax, and easily changed. Here's some more photos of lenses etc
  9. Selling due to now using my previously for sale Bushnell trophy. It has only been used at the range about 10 times, well looked after. Lenses are spot on, no ring marks or scratches etc (see pics) Fully multicoated lenses, half mildot AMD reticle. Comes with original box, butler creek flip up covers and sunshade. Will be very well packaged and sent first class recorded. £100 inc p&p, £90 collected. Cheers J
  10. Top work, keep them coming! How is it to shoot?
  11. Get a v mach kit mate. Do it yourself, easy enough done. Sounds like it's just a little hold sensitive, consistency is key. Think about where and how you hold/support the gun, trigger technique, breathing, body position etc. Even placing the pellet in the barrel consistently will help
  12. Those diddy little Abu spinners are the mutts, think they are called Droppen?? Always loved fishing with manns, bagley, rapala and salmo plugs. Solid build quality.
  13. Fished a very overgrown stretch tonight. Lost plenty of lures, dropped plenty of fish, legs are stinging from huge nettles and thistle, had a blast. Hit a wee un first, then they just grew and grew. Took this nice fish for the pot, had another cast and a bigger fish snapped me off so I called it a day, ain't that the truth!
  14. Saw something on countryfile the other night. Gamekeepers' laying out dead rabbits with poison in for birds of prey. There was an interview with a dog walker who's dog had a go at the carcass and died an hour later from the poison
  15. Price reduced to £30 posted folks, I'll give it until the end the week then it's on fleebay!
  16. Haha nice one, you will have to ween yourself of the 100 and onto the tx! Just in the process of buying a house, they asked me if we wanted to keep the old freezer. No brainer eh!
  17. https://www.gunspares.co.uk/products/24575/HW95/ Tw chambers, £96 for std and £110 for the luxus
  18. Result! Smart looking catty that. Looks like it's comfy
  19. When I was a kid my favorite lure was a salmo jointed thing in mackerel colours, absolutely loved that lure, the finish was superb. Shakespeare big s were great back then. They went downhill quickly though.
  20. Very nice, let us know what you think of the Nikon. Was it a 40mm objective lens?
  21. Unfortunately not Ant, I couldn't really get much further from the coast, I'm in Bradford! Must have missed that post, seen the odd doggy and tope pup coming out, waiting for the hounds to come out properly and hit them at there peak on a nice calm warm low. But you know what British weather is like!
  22. Lovely that top job. An heirloom catty if there ever was one
  23. If he's not so bothered about the money would he think about donating it to the uk fly dressers guild?
