  1. For plinking bands for 6mm steel I'd go with 20mm single flatbands, you won't need much elastic to fling em but they won't have enough in em to kill. 9.5mm is as small as I dare go, they are 3.5g much prefer 12mm steel at 7g or same in lead with doubled and tapered flat bands
  2. Unlucky mate, I've been bitten by that one before. What catty have you got? I can sort you out a set of plinking bands with a pouch that has no hole if you want. It would be next to useless for hunting though
  3. Cheers rez 99 with a flake it is. You have me all wrong mate in addition to the prosport Was thinking of going with a welsh willy or SFS tuned jobby...
  4. Just spotted the webley blackhawk, does anyone have experience with these? Looking for a lighter break barrel to tune up, for hunting. Alternative is the hw99s but I like the synthetic thumbhole stock and silencer included on the webley.... Is that me just being tight lol seems a very cheap price Any opinions appreciated, ta!
  5. Lovely that! I keep shopping around for springers and you don't come across many longbows. They are stunning. Do you know who did the tuning? I'm interested in getting my prosport done or getting something a little lighter tuned like a hw99
  6. Not by my experience but from what I hear .22 springers have less harsh recoil as they are more efficient, but .177 has a shorter lock time. Also the faster velocity of.177 makes it a little more stable in flight with the rifling on most standard air rifle barrels, again only from results I've come across not from my own findings.
  7. Guess the only thing to do is zero at location or maybe think about upgrading to a scope that has a proven track record for holding zero well? Maybe something like a weaver k6 (if you don't mind shooting on 6x all the time)
  8. Appreciate the reply there it sounds pretty complex! I can imagine that is very handy!
  9. Nice, are they the ones with first focal plane? Any advantages?
  10. Did you use a different mag to the mag you zeroed at?
  11. Lovely. Just out of curiosity is the train line still in use? And if so do you do anything special safety wise? The prosport looks gorgeous! Do you find it unbalanced at all with the menace? I had a leapers 4-16x50 IR AO and one piece mount and that was definitely unbalanced
  12. Just washed and lubed a fresh tin of exacts .177 4.52 8.4grn and pulled out about 10-15 pellets with heavy damage to the skirts. Are the AA Diablo any better? I know they are jsb made and virtually the same pellet but is there a quality control difference? Going to trial out some webley FT and H&N FTT and see what the difference is. I have had the odd flyer from exacts.
  13. Hi mate sorry for the confusion it doesn't have AO fitted but you can adjust it by taking the locking ring off and turing the lense, the opposite end to the eyepiece
  14. Got a milbro/diana G80 .22 in need of some love, free to a good home? Trigger is horrid and needs full internal overhaul I reckon plus seal. Blueing is suprisingly good! This one might be too much of a project though lol
  15. Ey up folks, wondering if you can shed some light on some trouble I had last night. I have purchased a new Hawke sport HD 3-9x40 for my prosport and went down to the range last night to zero in. Got a rough zero, then unscrewed the locking ring on the objective to get a fine focus to help fine tune the zero. Screwed the locking ring back on after setting the focus, double checked it and went on with zeroing. Went back in after a 10 min break and the image was blurry, the focus was too far away, so readjusted it again. Same thing happened again. Any idea what's going on? Is my spring
  16. Love my air arms pro sport but it's pretty heavy, not bad for prone but a bit of a pain for standing shots. I think the next rifle will be a tuned hw99 .177, the prosport sits at 4.1kg the hw99 is apparently 3.2kg
  17. Spot on mate the outside diameter will be a bit bigger than 50mm though, I bought low mounts expecting the scope to fit and you can guess the rest
  18. Love my petzl tikka plus 2 loads of battery life, waterproof good comfy fit lightweight full brightness and dim settings plus a red light option (great if you need a bit of light but don't want to alert every living thing in a 5 mile radius!) cost me £30 had it 5 years now use it regularly and still like new, but being LED it doesn't throw the brightest light but more than enough for anything I've come across.
  19. I've been looking at scopes a hell of a lot recently, trying to get a set up sorted that will work for my gun. If you want the lowest profile possible using low mounts you will probably have to use a scope with a 32mm objective (the lense nearest the muzzle) my scope is 40mm objective and I had to use medium sportsmatch mounts. Scopes with AO adjustable objective are much bulkier and might need higher mounts. Hope that helps.
  20. Cheers gents, Aye Mac got a fair thick skin you tend to living in Bradford haha! Don't mind a bit of banter at all!
  21. Hi folks I'm Jonnie. Great forum you have hear. I've been lurking for a while now so I thought I better sign up! Just recently taken up airguns this year joined Basc and baildon rifle club. I've had airguns in the past but want to do it properly now. Bought an air arms pro sport in Jan and loving it so far. Also love fishing especially bug wafting on the Aire around Keighley. Looking forward to seeing you around the forum!
