    Shame about weihrauch build quality now do you think it's because they are in such demand these days that they are having to drop QC to get the number of rifles out? Everytime I'm reading threads like this I think I need a new rifle then I get the prosport out and she reminds me I don't want anything else I think 4kg is the top weight of what you want to be carrying around personally some of the dianas and Walthers sound great but bit heavy!

    I'd have a guess too as I've fished it in the dales and lower down and the trout seem to have these blue streaks compared to my normal Yorkshire river. Thank god I've been paid I can get my yearbook now!

    Had ago with some a few nights a go. More accurate than I expected, but the wind does push them about a bit more. Not as accurate as bearings IMO, still useful enough though. Cheap and easy to get hold of. They don't look quite so suspicious either lol

    Yes mate not too far from Leeds, lovely place to go, especially on a wet/overcast day when it's not rammed with tourists. There's a drained reservoir, a lovely pond stacked with big carp, an archery centre, loads of woods packed with deer and dozens of these carvings. Well worth a look!

    Sounds like you have the right gear pal. Is the lens on the camera the right one? Some are IR cut which I think means that they aren't so good at picking up IR

    That sounds like the one! As I said in the pm I'd shoot it first and see if you like it, price sounds about right but them again there's a HW77 in the classifieds that I would rather put £250 on

    A lot of fixed scopes work on producing a 7-8mm exit pupil. The maximum pupil diameter of humans is about 7-8mm, so anything larger is wasted light. You can work out the exit pupil diameter of your scope by dividing the objective lens size by the mag, I.e. A 4x32 scope has an exit pupil dia. Of 8mm. This means that in low light when your pupils are dilated to the max 7-8mm, a 4x32 will give you the max light without compromising on mag. So in theory something like a 10x42 scope won't be able to cope with low light because of the small exit pupil diameter (4.2mm) As an additional note

    Just had a browse through Blackpool air rifles secondhand rifles page. There are some seriously customized springers on there, I wouldn't mind a few of them- looks like a collector has sold his full set, think I'd have the HW80 or HW77 in .177. Those stocks are immense! Some look a bit messed up if I'm honest!

    My first thought that it's not a proper IR torch? You should only be able to see a red glow when you look directly at the lens, that looks a lot brighter to me
