  1. The last thing I think about with pellets is the inside of the skirt. I can't imagine in my head atleast what difference it would make? Would love to know what is going on there. Surely if it was a good thing jsb would have done this to all there pellets?
  2. Gamekeeper john sells the bandsets on the website pal. You can buy theraband and leather and the tools easily enough from eBay
  3. Hi Timmytree, did you find the AA pellets to be different in anyway? I.e. Shape, barrel fit, soft/hard etc? I was always under the impression they were the same too
  4. Nice one rez. I think I'll pop in the old spring with tbt and put it over the chrono. Not defending v mach here but the seal seems very robust.
  5. No worries, was after the 16mm, cheers anyway
  6. Any idea what barrel it fits? 11mm or 16mm
  7. Hi mate. Does this come with the different adapters?
  8. Cheers gents. No problem so far with the v mach kit, there is only a tiny amount of preload on it. I have the original internals and a tbt kit at my disposal so I may just switch it back up and see how the tbt and original mainspring run. Jjm what went wrong with your v mach kit?
  9. It's not pal, infact she was conceived in 2010, she is v mached too, and that's all had a good run in. Part of me think's a couple of power washers would bump her up in no time...
  10. Ey up folks. Well this is for anyone interested really.... essentially I'm going to throw up a load of numbers from a chrono test I've done on my .177 prosport, my seem a bit dull, but it might be useful to some! So I'm going to put the pellet, followed by its head size and weight where I can, and in brackets the weight dialled into the chrono. These pellets were not sorted and weighed. The results show fps first follwed by Ft/lbs. Good luck getting your head around it lol webley accupel 7.9 (7.9) 1. 775 10.55 2. 779 10.66 3. 777 10.59 4. 778 10.64 5. 774 10.51 6. 770 10.41 7. 766
  11. I had one previously and it was great, just bought a brand new one and that's great too, highly recommended.
  12. Good going bell, that's a fine fish. Some lovely country out that way. Do you fish there often?
  13. S200 is a good gun, a little low on shot count but very handy. The mag conversions are good too.
  14. sooooo..... out of all that, the superfields showed best at 9 fps spread, the H&N close behind at 10 fps spread, these were the tightest fitting and heaviest pellets. The accupels were the worst, these were the loosest pellets out of all too, and the lightest. The JSB's suprised me how bad they were as they group on a 5p at 20 yards. Very impressed with the guns power, I was expecting a lot lower power results to be honest!!! So well chuffed with that. I think I'm going to opt for the H&N's as these will make a fab hunting pellet, so I'm deffo going to buy a tin of these, and cons
  15. heres the chrono results folks. 5 shot strings, pellet type, feet per second, ft/lbs H&N hunter extreme 9.26 (9.3 on chrono) 1. 748 ? 2. 741 11.34 3.749 11.59 4.738 11.24 5. 746 ? 16. My Bushnell ran out of adjustment too, I've shimmed it and it's spot on now, got some chrono results for those that are interested too, not what I expected at all!
  17. Nice Rimfireboy, I was expecting those heavy pellets to keep their energy.... They really fell off the scale didn't they? My chrono has arrived safe and sound so expect some testing over the next few days.
  18. Message received loud and clear gents, obviously a silly question. I'm sure I'd seen it being done on youtube by some renowned airgun mag I must be mistaken. Thanks for the replies. .22 rimfire it will be.
  19. Ey up folks. I'm toying with the idea of getting my first fac gun. I want it to be of some use for close range fox work. Would a suitable .22 air rifle be as effective as .22 rimfire? I ask as I imagine that a .22 fac air would be more versatile as the land would not have to be cleared for rimfire etc. Sorry if this is a stupid question! Cheers for any constructive replies
  20. Had the 99 on the 20yds range tonight! The allen keys came with me this time.... But I didn't end up needing them. The rifle seems to be settling down nicely now, 5p size ragged one hole groups on 4x mag, lovely. It seems to like the JSB exacts, so can't complain with that- but I will be trying some other pellets through it, namely exact express and h&n extreme hunters. Bring on the chrono I say, can't wait to see what it's putting out.
  21. Well lads bought myself a chrono (combro thing) so I will post up what it tells me about the 99 soon.
  22. Dried apple is good!! Makes a good tea alternative too.
  23. There's some good walks around there, wansfell pike is a good walk from Ambleside, there's some good fly fishing on rivers and lure fishing on Windermere itself.
