Ask in your local RFD, mine has a box of odd magazines under the counter.

It finally stop raining so I got out to try that rifle ! I couldn't believe it ! After having the zero perfect on Tues. my first shot was 4" left ! It took i4 clicks to get it back on target. It's a mystery to me.

I know of a case where the chap didn't want a sheet of steel on his spare bedroom wall so he drilled through the steel chassis of the mobile home and rivited the cabinet (on it's back) through the floor and chassis - it will take some shifting !

Sounds like 'cross-over'. Can be the mounts out of line or not central vertically - same effect as canting the rifle. Easy to get your head round if you draw a diagram. How you fix it is another matter !

If you are a beginner stick to something conventional until you have more experience. You do realise it's only a stock and not a gun?

Yesterday I slightly moved one mount on the scope on my 22 Hornet ( to fit a rail) so I thougt I'd better check the zero. It was off by a couple of inches so I rezeroed and was getting about 3/4" groups at 100 yards - magic! Set off out before dawn to wait up for a fox, regular visitor about 8am usually, put out a rabbit carcase for bait. He didn't show so getting bored I decided to shoot one of the magpies feasting on my rabbit. Perfect conditions, 98 yards, lined up, squeezed - total miss !!! That shot has been going through my head all day, I'm sure I was dead on. How do the rest

Get a large block of wood and a big hammer ! So you can take your frustration out on it when things go tits up !

Coypu - I've just got a Crossman 357 - it's huge ! Great fun though, potting tin cans in the workshop when I get bored - I'll get even less work done now !

With my ancient eyesight not being what is was I tried shooting whilst wearing glasses for a while but it was a nuisance so I experimented without specs, using the parallax adjustment to compensate. My grouping improved considerably, however I found my x9 scope was not quite up to rabbits heads at 100 yards (hmr) so I bought a x12 which was an improvement. When I got a .22 Hornet with the intentions of extending my ranges to 150 yards I bought a second hand 6-24x44. Set on x18 it’s great for target zeroing and rabbits. This morning when trying to pick up a crossing fox I found the field of

Celtic - it's a very satisfying rifle to shoot, a bit more 'whoomph' than the HMR and this reloading business is quite adictive! trouble is, the more I load the more I shoot!

I think you have to get your RFD to order one from Richard Pope but it might take a while, he's not too organised, well worth the wait though, mine was very good. -
Well, my Hornet is progressing! The Hornady factory ammo isn't bad but I struggled with my first home loads due to being sold the wrong sized bullet heads. I naively thought the 40g V-Max were the same length as the 35g, not so, they are longer and I had to seat them deeper just to get them in the magazine, However, they seem to work just fine. I have now ordered some Sierra and Speer heads plus some 35g V-max, I'll see how they go. It's very interesting checking how the various powder loads perform - more is not necessarily better! I have a fox to sort out on Monday, in a valley, max.

Matthew Phillips - at least you had the sense to ask! I was looking on the Facebook rimfire page and the following post - there are some idiots around ! · Daniel Allen i have a .17 mod on my .22 its better than the sak i had but cant compare cause i aint got a .17 · Xxxxxxx If you using a dedicated 17HMR mod on your 22lr you are a brave brave man · Daniel Allen why · Xxxxxx 17HMR dedicated mod has a smaller hole than a 22lr, pull the trigger = serious injury or worse · Daniel Allen the guy that makes them tested his on his 22-250 and it was fine i think a 22 wil -

You have to get your RFD to order one from Swift Precision - but good luck, he's a bit disorganised. Or, if you're anywhere near Bromsgrove you can call in and get one. -
Weapons The Tenant must not allow any weapons to be kept at the Premises, weather legal or not. This includes all weapons that are classified as offensive weapons, firearms, knives, machetes, but may also include other weapons or any item which appear to be weapons of this type. The Tenant must not allow people to use these weapons at the premises or in the local area. This includes using them in any threatening or aggressive way. The landlord has obviously not taken any legal advise before issueing this poorly worded clause. You can not possibly have any control over what occurs "in t

Only worry if the cops take your boots away for a forensic analysis of the blood on the bottom.

.22lr should not be your first choice for foxes, even though it will kill them stone dead if you are experienced and have enough self control to only take shots at acceptable ranges. I have .22lr and .22 Hornet at the moment but I think if I were starting again with only one rifle I'd go for a .17 Hornet. If you look up Youtube for some ballistic test you'll see the tremendous damage that tiny round makes. Of course, you'd be restricted to head shots on rabbits plus it's about 70p+ per shot. It's also no noisier than high velocity lr's and with virtually no ricochet risk.

I believe there should be a clause in the agreement about retrospective effects. I've just got my new rules and it included the following. "None of these rules is to have retrospective effect. Accordingly: they are only to apply from the date on which they take effect; and no occupier who is in occupation on that date will be treated as being in breach due to circumstances which were in existance on that date and which would not have been in breach of the rules in existance before that date." You might need to take some advice as there are clearly defined goverment rules as to what c

Well, a box of new brass won;t break the bank. I did make a tool to de-cap individually by hand, it works quite well, locating the hole from inside before tapping it but is rather tedious. I suppose i can reuse the Hornady brass as long as I keep it seperate and don't try and run it through the die.
-
I checked all the Hornady cases I managed to de-cap and a lot had holes off centre and also too small to accept the die pin. The pin was definitly jamming in the hole. After fixing the pin I de-caped some Remington and their holes were fine. It's a bummer as I bought quite a quantity of Hornady ammo meaning to reload and now can't even de-cap them safely. I suppose i could make a hand punch and pop them out by hand. I was wondering about using a drill to resize the holes so that the Lee die will work next time - of course, taking care not to oversize them!

I have used my NV unit off the rifle as a spotter, lined up with the quarry and switched on the laser light.

Lapula/SK's perform nearly identically as Eleys in my Anshutz and 10/22.
