  1. A bit of shaky blair witch style footage will do! Just interested to see a bit so any film will be worth a watch,thanks...
  2. Just to be nosy truther, don't suppose you have any pics/video of an outing with your dog on the squirrel as it sounds like an interesting method,I know people whose dogs have caught squirrel but that's by bringing them up on a walk through woodland, more luck than judgement, actually actively hunting them, that must be fairly unusual?

    Afternoon

Good morning rabbit shooting there rez, nice to have guns to choose between to keep you busy...
  4. Did the same on a golf course perm, used to go after ten and get good results and see a few about that were too far and difficult to stalk, then started going earlier and seeing less and getting much less then eventually saw practically nothing and bagged about the same,it never seemed to be quite the same after that, all our own doing I think, now my mate goes occasionally when he can and says its getting back to what is was,so I totally get how it feels...
  5. Confidence is key and if you have doubt in your mind over some piece of your kit or even yourself it can put you in this position, its on your mind and goes round and round and I suppose becomes a sub conscious off put,get out and practise Mac and get that belief back, you know the feeling that everything is spot on at different ranges, magnification etc,I'm sure you do this often enough anyway but there's no harm in doing it once more,if you find you don't get on with .177 after then a trade in is understandable, may as well have a gun you can confidently grab and go...
  6. Nice, good guns, had one years ago in .22 and would have another no question, enjoy it...
  7. Those victims would agree that it does the job, well if they could, you know...
  8. Good session mole, nice bit of grub there, and if a gun gets a bag then its doing its job so should be room for it in the cabinet?? Each to there own hey?
  9. Nice bit of rat bashing there,I know lads who do some in the chicken sheds and say its usually a good nights shooting, albeit a bit dirty but rough with the smooth hey?
  10. Good read, made me smile, these are the sort of trips we remember and tell about again and again for a while...
  11. Just thought while walking the dogs, would they mould to the rifling as well as lead, being tougher?
  12. Good read, look forward to more of that, hard to beat a bit of grub that you've been out and hunted for yourself, and like said nice to see a springer doing a superb job...
  13. Never used them but thought they offer slightly better penetration as they are a harder material than lead? Also think I read the Americans are funny about hunting with lead in places so these are a "solution"??
  14. Don't they just look right scoped up? Now get some pellets through it!
  15. Good read that was, sounds like a good session and a bit of variety in the shots to get to know the gun a bit, good bit of feed bagged and ended with a pic! Well done and that stew sounds nice...
  16. If it if shoots as nice as it looks then £175 is fair I'd say, maybe even below the going rate for that rifle??
  17. Decent morning, must satisfied with the amount and mixed bag, nice pic that as well... What sort of ranges were you dropping the crows?
  18. Pretty much my thoughts,I would like to think if they make you have an air rifle on ticket then the ft lb could be upped a bit? As a compromise or enticer or whatever but if its going through practically the same procedure as fac maybe it may as well be one?
  19. Good walk out with a nice result, worth getting stung for I reckon, good read and a pic!
  20. Good thread and point raised, and quite clearly explained I feel,it is one of those moments that makes your heart rate pick up,as bad as it may look I think this is why we need a good understanding of what we are doing,as well as good and vital shot placement we need to know a bit about what the impact is doing to the quarry and effects it will have,we have all been in this situation and needed a follow up shot and have had the horrible minute reflecting upon it,its clear you care a great deal about causing zero suffering and are an ambassador for the sport simon so don't feel down about it,its
  21. Good to see young uns with an interest, looks pleased with the result of the outing, well done...
  22. Would tend to agree with rez, most machinery will be expensive? Some would be custom stuff? Also agree with you wanting to browse the book for free though,if it doesn't become a project you've only wasted a bit of time...
  23. The laser designator? Not seen one but would like to hear from a user, not seller...
  24. Enjoyed that, watched a few of your others as well and that's a good ferreting team you got there, liked watching those dogs working...
  25. Could be anything from anemia to parvovirus/aleutian? Surely the vet can take a sample or something in the meantime making the ferret comfortable,I think a lot of vets don't know much more than most of us when it comes to ferrets and unfortunately they are quite ill before you notice anything and go downhill quickly, all the best with it...
