    Another for rucksack,I have a medium sized surplus one and fit a fair amount in it,although I must admit I don't line it or clean it out! Seems OK though...

    There isn't a "best",there's what's best for you depending on budget and what features you want on a gun and stuff but one mans pleasure is another mans poison so its up to you really to find one that you like and think feels right and are happy forking out for,as for calibre it's again up to you,they both shoot well but some prefer one over the other for various reasons so you won't get a definite answer on that one!

    Hey all,was just wondering how many of you use a fixed mag scope,I have a 4-12x on my gun at present and have it set on 6x mag and I rarely turn it up or down,so do fixed mag offer any advantages or is the option of adjustment better? I'm not after a new scope or anything just wondering...

    Too many aspects of rabbit control to ask people to lay off them I think,I don't see too many on the ground I go hunting on so we take a few and leave some to come back for,those who need rid will try to achieve that and those who take a few for the pot will do just that,if you've more than you can get on top of I say you are lucky cus most of us hardly have enough to keep a constant supply in the freezer,it all depends on your situation but we all have different approaches and motives with regard to rabbit control...

    How far do you lads go into testing pellets? When I get a tin that I can group all shots touching at around 30 yards I think that'll do and stick with them until I use a different gun or can't get the ones I want for some reason so try something else,do you get to this point then carry on til you get,say,a one pellet size hole? Or the smallest hole out to a maximum range? And do you find,as I think I have,that after a point of accuracy you have reached your limit and are happy with that?

    My style has changed fair bit I would say,it used to be stalked standing shots from 30 ish yards,practised several times a week and worked well enough but as I've learned more and become more patient I've started to select spots giving me options on different quarry at different ranges from one place,and rarely take free standing shots now,sitting/kneeling and prone are the norm and my range has increased to around 40 yards,unless I'm lamping then its my stalked standing technique...

    Sounds like a lot of work went into fixing that gun up and it looks tidy so looks as though it was worth it,I had one of these and have a lot of good memories with it,hopefully the person its going to will have as well one day,well done and good luck with it...
