  1. never bred a rabbit dog but but expect them to do them , and when it was legal allsorts ,,but still expect the same stamp even tho rabbits only as they say ,
  2. better with good qaulity line bred or just good to good works out alot better if you know what your doing ,saw several first crosses some were poor specimans as an allround lurcher ,and then you got some that through right and they were decent ,i would keep away from commercail breeders and meet genuine working dogs bred from generaitions to work , course hunt .only way forward
  3. nice to see some collie types ,ideal for mooching and stalking and a quick dash
  4. minkenry would beat you hands down with his mink
  5. start mines when there ready if there born may june get them young rabbs late aug with there mother but all ferrets are diffrent ,some ive saw second season others work the minute there 4 or 5 months, all diffrent ,so many pet ones about now that the good working blood is diluted at times so some never make it
  6. gd to see well fed and looked after dogs got a few myself in good shape and fit
  7. no the fools parting with money need help ,
  8. had saluki collie type for 15 years ,very good all round dogs,,,i never run the bitches hard when in heat just keep them fit everybodys diffrent

  13. good qaulity collie lurcher saluki lurcher saw some right dogs theyll fill a bag day or nite
  14. i dont think ferrets try to drag rabbits out of burrows more like the rabbits trying to get out and the ferrets hanging on , its funny how you get people believing ferrets drag rabbits out fetching ferrets dragging ferrets be a new craze
  15. ye same to you ,what you running at moment you got anything decent
  16. no but i no my dogs and have known m for twenty odd years been out several times with him and had some good hunts and plenty of laughs ,he was the first guy i met out with saluk types we all had collie types , i saw him slip a dog he had called sol a big brown and white dog on qaurry 200yards away couldnt believe he caut it , he says to me you can keep it but you can carry it ,some dog,
  17. northy not been on here long was whin my mates handle ,as when i meet him for a hunt, its not to talk about computers its all hunting dogs from past present , and keeping one step ahead of the game ,its full on feildsports no time for comps etc
  18. if that was me i would say there rescue dogs and you just walking them, lay low ask them if they want a normal kitten and leave it at that , and bigger the fools them for paying vet which i dont believe , ,
  19. ye pick your runs and dont sicken him best way ,nothing worse than foot sore dogs at start of season ,whats the mother to pup a saluki cross to ,
  20. not saw a decent genuine beardie for years but recently i have saw some pure beardies working full time on the hill land cattle sheep , a good class greyhound and your on the way to produce a good pup or 2 , i saw a good few away back mid ninties , handy dogs they came from the stirling area march glenn very good dogs
  21. fine looking dog ,hopefully the ground softens up and youll get a bit sport with him, is he got a bit pace to him
  22. go back to basics and start again ,trained several saluki types some were very obiedent others never made it , into the hall of fame , a well trained dog is a joy a headcase does your head in ,and testes you to the full, best of luck and hard work
  23. you musnt have seen many home bred working lurchers as theyll be a lot keener and fetch better than any your jonny hanckocks mate, hancocks are for the pet industry and people who go out the odd occasion ,i to was blinded as a youngster with hanckock , wasnt till i went to the old lurcher feildtrails i saw better rabbiting dogs etc , and met keen rabbiting coursing enthusaists ,that you get a chance to see a better grade of animal , most dog men had a hancock type as they spewd lies that feuled the fire, but you move on . a trial spaniel is diffrent from a working spaniel some are headcases
  24. at the moment i can take a few out and they all work but there always ones that go the distance on tough rabbs who dont want to move , or when its deep and they realy have to push rabbits out ,never had a prefrence a good sized bitch or a meduim sized hob,i think the trick is to not have to many but keep the ones with the best attitude ,with the current weather ferrets can be up and down ,dog ferrets still not a hundred percent on the kill at times but once weather gets cold theyll shine through to hell with fancy ferrets micros etc
