  1. i like seeing the collie lurchers had collie lurchers since the eighties ,a collie lurcher is a good starting piont for to move on and get better dogs , worked for me ,used to like the obeidence ,one several ove r the years , but realy its in the feild that counts ,had some great sport with them ,when it was all legal plenty game in all sorts of form ,i went one further and bred them to saluks got some real handy dogs for game hunting ,i would say the real good ones are hard to get nowadays ,ones that can do it single handed on all qaurry ,had a few ,with 3 minute stamina for hare agility for

  3. if you have decent dogs that catch net slippers then nets can be set quicker ,the minute the net moves the dogs standing back waiting , for the bolt or i am ,thats why a good lurcher and ,ferrets, are hard to beat ,one thats clued up to the hunting game there dogs and proper rabbiting dogs,or hunting dogs , a man that works without a good running dog that marks catches ,fetches ,catches the odd one that slips the net or if the land suits and there not lots of rabbits catches bolters , stop net purse net lurcher ferret pretty lethal team , but takes a bit of time and trainig to a good stand

  6. ye quite a few are, but thats the way they are, ,most good guys i know dont mind us having a run ,but there always the few who are evil to lurchers in general so they deserve the closet attention, and get no favours or nods ,just the way it is in the country side matters of modern day living , i used to love coursing with a few mates and having fun fed the hares to the dogs or keep the back legs haunch for the casserole or butcher changed days
  7. its funny seeing them with the plus fours in the pub with the full tweeds and tease them a bit about old duke killing the shooting captains deer twenty years ago and how the shooting captain used to course with me twenty five years ago , nothing better than sitting with two jukels a warm fire in the bar ,dogs got mud on there feet as hees had an early morning run ,,and there looking you up and down , but they no not to say to much as the skeletons are all in the cupboard ,priceless , eighties were great for freedom you just have to change you approach nowadays , but a good dog man will have a
  8. i always take a dog so a net is basicaly to slow the dam thing down i leave holes as they are and look for the run and set the net there ,less disturbance the better , feck cleaning everything , do that when the days over and your sitting having a cup of tea , i would rather place more nets on likly runs than making aracket and the rabbits start sticking ,

  11. if your an educated man an drive the feilds when its stubble or round hedge rigs and no the land intimitly , then ille drive as much as i can when i needed big numbers ,but never on a mans crops and never leave a gate open if there livestock ,we had subarus in the eighties ninties and never once went over crop , always setaside and stubble ,or grass paddocks but only if dry, these sound a [bANNED TEXT] bunch of twats and no respect then again i have met farmers who are inbred ,paraniod twats who deserve as much as they get , its a funny old world, all lands diffrent and its approach is the sa
  12. most of the boys who i grew up with dont have a dog ,but there a few more hardier ones who love the game , and havent went the way ,of i have a gun now i have to be a real good boy and get rid of the nasty lurchers ,and have a spaniel lab , i dont let them forget , if i bump into them ahah ,wur o jock thamsans bairns ,as they say in the north ,but then alot were not real dog men and just followed an eighties ninties cult , having a running dog ,
