ye only rabbits but a rabbit can still run and are sharp ,saw collie fied dogs toiling on a good rabbit like seeing them snapped up and on to the next ,but better still a dog you dont have to talk to for most of the day as they no there job and come back as quick as they can great sport

of all the years ive had lurchers 30 odd , saw several lurcher hunting trails ,not saw one beddie cross i would take home guys , rabbiting you want them soft mouth not yipping , obeident ,,fast good fetchers, easy to train ,not ragging another dogs catch ,under control ,and listning to you and working as a team .maybe the beddies nowadays are a lot better ,than the ones i saw twenty odd years ago

saw several german wirehaired pures and there crosses , a keeper ken smith bred several i gave him a good greyhound bitch he bred some very handy dogs of them clucker also had one saw it work , this would be a good ten years ago , maybe 12 ,i think darcy took afew photos of it he told me a rough brindle dog good on foxes and could run a bit ,the moors are the best places for them dogs ,they shine on that land

good to get out my favorite nite for birds were nights like this ,and you new everything was along the hedge sides or wood sides ,before the ban, roe hare ,would sit tight on a wood side if the rain was pelting , set a side was good to as you could get right on top them as there was dry cover to clap in ,good nite getting afew swishis

baz i like your stile answerd like a man, if half of them were more truthful on here ,there wouldnt be so much shit getting bred mate ,or hyped up for cash ,lurcher scene is a poor show to back befor the ban etc but you just have to go forward and duck and dive all the best

p douglas had a dog maggie he done fine with his on the rough grass land and was ahandy wee bitch ,but for me lacked gears that a good lurcher needs on long slips when the qaurry is heading for cover, she started picking her runs to , but a good animal ,in her prime , but any more than a third to qaurter collie i always thought plenty enough to catch game ,ive always thought pace was a nessecity at times ,as well ,you can be cute clever but when its one on one on arable land they need to be made to make a mistake , were we hunt all winter sown 50 to 100 acre feilds wouldnt be much use ,but on

i here people saying any lurcher ,thats bull shit you need pace ,running sense ,good feet good stamina , you dont get that if not bred selectivly and useing abit common sense

pre ban had several allrounders hare rabbit roe odd fox all taken with abit of style,its a hard task to keep breeding qaulity allrounders,with the political ban ,but such is life i would go for a real well bred collie lurcher or , top class coursing dog to a real well bred colie type something fast and agrresive on the chase ,

i never met typ ,but he kept a type of dog that was well to coliesh for me but nice dogs all the same ,,some through nice tho , i like a dog with pace that can pressurise from the word go as there aint no hiding place on winter wheat ,were they run strong ,,its good to see the lines still going ,saw several collie types at the old national feild trails , when scotland ,england, wales went head to head ,at one part of lurcher work rabbiting, good crack and lasting memories , hope the pups turn out well

handy bushing dogs and for working hill land in most type of weathers ,i prefer them with more pace for large arable land but would be handy stud dogs that type ,to put into greyhoundy types , to get strong feet and for easy training

they look simliar to a man in barnsley areas dogs ,they greyhound was black ,what are they like for pace , on decent sized feilds , on the scut of a big fast rabbit , as they could be a handy type if bred right -
ye its good fun chased one my self with 2 young hounds he went on a cactus bush, i soon got him out, dogs got him with kneck and front rib cage, it was a good chase ,i ran for about four hundred yards chaseing and hollering the pups along as they had not connected with a coyote but they soon did the big stag beechnut floored him then cookie the big saluki cross stag nailed him pretty exiting

got saluki types they run clever fast as hell and game there been bred for a purpose ,,you would be surprised what they can do ,. in the allrounder running stakes ,. very good game providors .but i have saw alot of saluki crosses that lacked drive or should i say top gear at nite or fast land were the dog has to pressure it from the word go ,......but tweeked and bred right yet to see finer dog
