  2. bird get some more pics of bryn with rabbits not saw many lately, and some with pheasants to ,hees some dog
  3. saw a few and owned a few decent dogs back in the day ,i had a right good one 27 dog just looked like a saluki a bit stronger in the back he caught everything asked and was loyal to me ,when it was legal he took roe foxes hare rabbits ,should had bred more out of him but had an accident and died at seven a lovely big dog he was loyal, never had one like him again
  4. rest in peace , may the sun be on your face and the wind and rain on your back rest in peace , i think he had kelpie crosses and collie lurchers he used to do the huntin trails years a go
  5. that script is like out of a plummer theory or one of the other dreamers who right about everbody and there dog to make wonga
  6. if i had to count on rabbits to put a roof over my head i would give my self a real shake ,its pocket money what i can make as a shuttering carpenter . foreman site manager ,fishing in summer for six to 8 months will keep you well stocked for the winter and what you get is a bonus , if every rabbit is a prisoner all the time then time to take a step back and re think my level of play ,if every body thought rabbits or big numbers was pure wonga then they would go down rapidly in places ive done it my self and gave my self a good shaking ,,the only way to make good money is to charge for priva
  7. o shees not tommys oniels dog , thought cause the pic was there it was his
  8. always thought a rabbit of the seat was one in the bush some dogs take sqautters others dont ,some just fly in and scoop them up,as a dog gets older heel conserve his self to adjust to age ,but in there prime i like seing a dog lift them like hot coals and back to master as they say none of that taill wagging waiting for 5 mins to lift a 3 pound rabbit a pure colie could get , cant beat a good day or nite with a full bag ,and dogs go home tired for a good feed a rub down and a good bed ,
  9. that lucas cross you have in your avator looks a nice dog,is she pacy
  10. ive neve kept a diary and never thought about catching lots of game you can have as much fun with half adozen rabbs than catching forty thats for sure some of the big private jobs ive done alot more lucrative to, golf courses estate gardens , same with hares deer when it was legal its never been the amount, it was always the best chase with a bit money throwing in ,or food ,its like some lads who get exited with a hundred rabbits i would say catching 2 or 3 good winter hares or agood fast roe buck heading for home more of a good chase
  11. tommy your back tracking mate doesnt matter were ,ive ran al over the uk at one time or another i was born in edinburgh and hunted allround eastlothain berwickshire for past thirty years no most places and alot of good farmers and bad ones lol , grounds very like the stuff i was brought up on ,good to see
  12. ye just a bit more clever than the average bear lol most dont see the big picture with dogs and salukis etc , ye ive done more than my fair share , salukie were bred for open land but willa djust if you enter them correctly and get the right lines that want to kill game not just course it ,saw them spent maybe 10 days coursing with pure salukis maybe twenty dogs , so you get a good honest look at whats what with the salukis in general hope my freind got his pup from you alright
  13. if they have pace see no reason for a saluki to fair well .against majority of lurchers on here ,mate just getting them [bANNED TEXT] places to bringing them on and doing them justice there just a dog a running dog ive had dogs near pure saluki they adjusted to bolting rabbs caught lots of hare deer when it was legal never ran out and gave me no feet trouble and were hardy maybe didnt have greyhound whippet pace but done well in tha allround stakes
  14. back in the ninties the early part there was alot more rabbits some years between lamping ferreting box traps we had 200 to 400 a week then less and less , best season 3 to4 thousand but prices were poor , so we got int o other game but lately the rabbits have been good 2 50 to 3 00 pound a head in some establish ments and i walked onto 20 thousand acres so handy bit of luck ,dont lamp but ferret it and dogs, but last year we had roughly 1500 this year weel end up with maybe 800 to 1100 roughly ,its a hobby nothing else , and legal as it can get ,i would pay a fiver or 6 quid for a sco
  15. as long as the beddie doesnt go to ground and yip like a hyena lol
  16. gods country son ,scotland were men are men ,we breathe fire and drink wisky lol ye get the jukel up and have afew days as times flying buy and the season wil be over there a cheap bed and brekie not far from me and the land is not far either , so youre sorted , youle get looked after and se some of the finest country side in britain and sport berwickshire ,
  17. good feeling catching your first rabbit solo no helpers , just you and dog , i would had cooked the rabbit up gave half to dog and half to you , my first rabbit i caut we were mere boys 11 12 bolted in to an old cotton double ender purse net ,with old beer can rings for rings long time ago but still remeber were when , first hare 13 14 years old i was a proud lad through the village hanging over my back big as a dog hope you many more pleasurable nites or days
  18. had the pleasure to see all sorts of salukis and the best were good as a purpose bred running dog the rest were about as good as a hanckoock or burrel lurcher lol if they have pace determenaition youre half way there
  19. well good for you ,you got any more pics of her if she still there mate lol .all the best to running dogs andf fast hares
  20. is this a sales pitch or a genuine hunting story [BANNED TEXT] dog catchs three hares in scotland ,and you sell it for good money thats not a good ending for a dog thats burst a gut for you ,not another wonga dog
  21. nice seeing your own dogs do well but nice seeing other dogs doing good or better for the future and for pups in years to come , they look like theyll be racy and not to heavy your pups nice pair
  22. whats funny is the amount of guys on here no jeff burrel intamitly ,like the hanckoock plummer snivlers who phone up and talk shit about the pups he has ahah funny old world ,i cant believe there guys going round mens houses kennels still taking photos and writing about them ,then bang dogs are stolen , the burrels hanckoocks are best left for the dreamers there enough genuine dog men breeding good stuff nowadays to get a pup from genuine hunting men and gals the only shoulder i want to see is an old type collie lurcher or saluk dropping ashoulder to pick his game up or changeing his gear
  23. nice stamp of a dog harey got some decent collie type my self good allrounders and does it mater if its got a spalsh of saluk they still have collie in them saw dogs with saluki in them still run back with game like a good well schooled collie cross ,mark hunt course ,good dogs the collie type
  24. for me two or three is enough and a few pensioners to breed of for replacemnt ,i hunt alot always have and got twenty odd thousand acres of hill ground, to play with and maybe 2thousand acres of arable so you can mix and match ,i wouldnt keep two pups again done it last season ,no good , one dog an work her with her mother or father ,one well trained dog easier than two pups ,i want to enjoy a dog not be a chore , takes me a year or two to train them up for allround work ,i try and space my dogs every three years ,but if you keep a type then you need to breed to better the type you keep so it
