  1. Think many of us have a 'thing' for knives. I've always had, since i was a kid and thankfully, i had a grandad who let me have what i could afford. Though i love some of these hand crafted jobs my fave knife, that i've never owned, is the Puma White Hunter. For me it's just perfection, i love the look of them. Not that it'd be much use to me over here but one day i'm gonna own one. The Puma range is well worth a look. I remember reading Ted Walsh's fantastic Lurchers and Longdogs book as a kid in the early 80's and Ted writing about the worth of a good knife and ending with the sente
  2. ? Cheers Dilly, it's gonna be hell but i gotta try...!! ????
  3. Agree with Wilf 100% on this one. Firstly its another ban and second the hipocrisy of it...!! I have central heating, sound, new central heating. I also have a burner, a new efficient burner, a Clock, the best i could find. My burner looks fantastic but i never got bought for its looks. In my village there's no mains gas, its oil or bottled gas. I'm too far off the main road to have oil pumped into a tank in the back and as i'm in a conservation area i cannot have a tank on show, so the cost of a tank buried and piped would have come to near 7k. So we stuck to bottled gas. Now i
  4. I've only gone and bought it...? I like JP so it'll be an 'interesting' read. As for the author, that Middleton book was terrible and the Nuttall book is almost as bad. It seems Mr Frain can't plan a single chapter and rambles on and on, often repeating the same shite just a few paragraphs further on. I get what he's trying to do but he ain't got a clue how to do it and his books read like he had to scribble the knowlage in his head down about the subject in one sitting, lest he forgets..! At least thumbing through the Park book i don't see any of those fecking drawing
  5. A cracker that Joe, i remember watching that back then too and wanting a big deerhoundy lurcher instead of my (very capable) grew. Good post ?
  6. She's a fine lookin bitch mate... ?

  8. Going rather well AND a very intersting topic..... So please post wisely.....??

  12. Gentlemen... As has been said, talk working dogs and keep your snide comments and bickering to yourselves. Sort yourselves out or you ain't gonna be posting on here anymore...
  13. Cheers BN ? The roof is T+G with an extra heavy duty felt, which they state will last 10 years(?) I touched lucky as mine is the ex display model, which was on display inside but has a side (patch) which has lightened in the sun, through a window. Got it £600 cheaper and with the standard guarantee.
  14. Just bought this, tannerlised wood with fully insulated kennels and heaters. Delivery next week ?
  15. Yer, your dead right Saltmoon.... THOUGH hate to say it BUT sadly, it's what makes the world go round... As PC as we like to be, breeding puppies, failed youngsters, 5 minute wonders, getting locked up, splitting up with the Mrs/Mr etc..... SELLING PUPPIES AND DOGS is all part of what keeps the lurcher & terrier world supplied.... Personally speaking, i LOVE dog advertisements, on any site and i sure miss em on this one. This site is all the poorer for that IMO..!!! ? In past years, ad's in E&M, Shooting News, EDRD and CW were the best part of them 'rags'... First p
  16. Yup, as Harold Wyman named his book, The Great Game and thats what it always should be... ?
  17. Yer, wind comes in spades but if your looking for a stud i'd rather use a coursing dog that has killed a bit more than just hares than one that ain't. Not the type i'd keep as a lamping dog either Ron but the title is asking about a stud to a bull bred bitch.
  18. I've no idea who owned Scout but the bloke who had that line of bulls said on this forum, if my memory serves, that even though he had no time for the dogs owner, he had the dog in his kennels and the dog did very well on what he put it on, well enough to put it over his own bitch. If it was just wind he was after i'm sure he could of found better coursing blood...
  19. Congratulations Kanny ?
