    Stafford...

He's in fine shape for sure and it takes a good eye to spot good genetics, especially in a kc bred dog... Well played ?
  2. Love that... If your keeping a line or a family of dogs, then why not. They do it alphabetical in hound kennels, so why not do it on your own scale... ?
  3. Well played mate, it's great when the effort you put in pays off. You only get out of them what you put in... ?
  4. He's just gone up in my estimation, he's right, we just may be... ??
  5. They just look like big pit/pet bulls and i doubt have little running in them. I just don't get nor like em. Put the right pure APBT to a greyhound (or coursing dog) and you've got a lurcher. Put that Alaunt to a running dog and you've got a lurcher BUT lets face it, whatever 'bull' blood is in that, it ain't no game bred APBT is it... If i was wanting sommat better with that frame, i'd look at a Dogo or a rangy Pressa... That thing, to me, is no running dog..!
  6. Thats where the whole lot started mate. That Plummer has a lot to answer for.. ? I remember meeting a very posh Plummerphile about 25 years back at Lowther that had a pair there. Big heavy tubs of lard. I played the game and he just kept on spouting about their prowess in the field, from rabbits to red and everything inbetween. They both looked like they couldn't catch a rabbit in a phone box. He was giving it the big one about him and DBP's breeding programme and i knew it was time to leave...
  7. Spot on mate, i'd agree with you on the weather but they still came over poor...
  8. Maybe so but i just can't see what they could do than a well bred bull cross couldn't... Maybe be more available...?
  9. Thought they came over like a right bunch of clowns...
  10. Sweating like a blind lesbian in a fishmongers...
  11. Yep, single minded fox dogs get themselves into all sorts of trouble...
  12. I'd agree with just about all of the above BUT one other factor to be aware of is that some dogs are just more injury prone. And that can be classed in a couple of ways. Some dogs constitution can play a part, poor feet etc, some dogs are just bomb heads, born stupid and never learn how to run, no matter what their breeding and it's these that live very short lives...
  13. Yep, i am allergic to dogs and both fur and saliva can cause me problems. Though it lessens with my own dogs and provided i follow basic steps i'm fine. That may not be the case with others who have 'pet' allergies BUT you really wont know until you give it a go..! There are no 'rules' with pet allergies as in what type of dog is 'better' but breeds that shed less are prefferable, same with coat types. Breeds like poodles & bedlingtons softer coats are easier on the skin than short coats like on a Stafford BUT dependent on how much you want to live with it, you've just gotta try. My l
  14. For anyone who would like to learn more about Lifesaving skills, the R.L.S.S - ROYAL LIFESAVING SOCIETY teaches everyone, children and adults, the skills to save both yours and someone elses life in both open water and indoor pools. The RLSS are the governing body that qualifies UK and international lifeguards with the N.P.L.Q. - National Pool Lifeguard Qualification. They are the best in the world and are used as a yardstick for almost every other country. Many pools have a Lifesaving club who use the facility, which you can find by a simple call to your local pool. Or you can conta
  15. Thats a sad but great and important post mate ? Swimming first and formost should be taught as a life skill.... It is essential that ALL children are taught and taught well. To me, i see it as every parents duty to put their children through quality swimming lessons, that should last throughout their school years. I've been Lifeguard trained for 40 years, worked for the Inshore Rescue on the Mersey and sadly have witnessed some real tradgedys from poor and none swimmers.
  16. RIP, Scouse genius Tom...
