  1. Of course not mC, you can say what you want about em, i've got a coursing dog now... ?
  2. I'd agree with all that Charts ? Used to love getting good rabbit numbers back in the day but there were more memorable nights on different quarry for me too. Though that week with the 3 x 30 was decent. On the dunes, my fave speck back then. It'd always held serious numbers and 20+ was an average couple of hours on there, with a run on a fox or two and sometimes over Altcar for a gallop on one or two if its inhabitants.... I'd gone the first night, hit 25 and decided to head for home, nabbed another 5 on the way back and left with 30. Two days later it was blowing a hooley and
  3. Hare coursing's illegal and they should be too...! ?
  4. Never easy mate... RIP Meg ?
  5. I recon this young bitch of mine would have made a decent rabbit dog if i'd of had her 20+ years ago. Though she seems to have all the qualities, i's gonna be tough to ensure i put enough infront of her to really know. Spinning 6/7 rabbits local just doesn't show the cracks. It really don't matter whats in her either imo, she's a nice size, a good lift from the off and the determination i like in a youngster. It really is just a case of numbers...
  6. They were simply a giant bulb and were hell on the drain on older motorbike batteries BUT they couldn't be beaten back in the 'golden age' of lamping ?
  7. Kiev's looking mighty fine mate but that gammon has been cremated and deffo hold the beans... ?
  8. Keep me posted chaps, let me know how it goes. ?
  9. If we are talking lamping rabbit dog, then in my opinion almost all average sized lurchers, given the optimum opportunity will make sound rabbit dogs. The best i've seen were not of a certain type or cross but were schooled and out enough to take it to another level.
  10. Can't recall if i've ever been out with a dog of this type, don't think so... Recon this cross has much to commend it and I can recall Lloydy's Moocher dog in that vid and remember tninking how handy it looked as a youngster. Yer, as a good 'ol knock about lurcher this cross is just the ticket, i'm surprised they ain't more popular.
  11. Great watch Sirblessed, enjoyed that ??
  12. Rudeboy1 - Can you please give ALL your posts propper titles that relate to the subject matter. If there are any further posts with just your name, or any variations of your name on them, you will be gone, along with any variations of yourself that crop up later. Thank you
  13. These things are fast becoming every cities 'must haves' ?
  14. 64 with one dog, back in about 1991. Though took 30 rabbits three times in the same week, from the same speck, with the same dog. Funnily enough, that dog was one of those no wind half cross bull bloods... ?
  15. Lovely, but that'd be winter grub for me...
  16. We're all curry fans in this house. Currys can be eaten any night of the week here, it's our 'go too' comfort grub. We make our own curries, sometimes with jars ( that we funk up with spices) or when making our own, we do from scratch. Of late i've been doing a few that the woman who ownes Mowgli Street Food restaurants, Nisha Katona, does. If anyone has had the pleasure of eating in a Mowgli, they are fantastic and her dishes to make at home are too! The one i've screenshot below is a cracker, you can make it hotter if you like it that way. Oh and don't worry about the ginger o
  17. Half & half... Just in the kennels at night and if we are at work. As i post this they are at my feet.
  18. I'm allergic to dogs, have been all my life, or for as long as i can rember. Need to wash my hands after touching any dog before i can touch my face (god help me if i rub my eyes!) Same with the underside of my bare arms touching dog fur or dog saliva, they will come up almost instantly in rashes. I develope a semi immunity to my own dogs and can stroke and be around them with bare arms. And its got better as i've got older. I love dogs and hunting enough not to let it change my life, rather adapt the way i handle dogs and my awareness of dogs around me.
  19. So many litters bred and so many puppies sold since covid hit. Many going to very unsuitable homes. Of course there's going to be a huge fallout to the rescue centres this year and next, as people go back into work and can go abroard now. It'll be a buyers market in them rescue homes and the online selling sites soon enough...
