Whilst this is a hot topic, i'm currently looking for a lurcher design for my left inside forearm. I'd like sommat chasing, with the lurcher nearer the elbow and a hare/fox at the wrist end. So far i just can't find anything worth doing and my other resort is the sketch of the lurcher carrying a rabbit, that Martin Knowlden illustrated a couple of Plummer books with... But if anyone has seen sommat decent, please let me know. Ta
  2. In Plummers Fell Terrier it shows a picture of what looks like a chocolate with a massive bull terrier head that a bloke called Bradley brought from the North East, which its said entered the Breay/Buck line. I've also read (not in FT) that there were many black dogs in the NE, before they came to the Lakes. In older photo's Bucks dogs always look very Border like and quite different from the dogs considered Breay/Buck dogs, in his later years he kept blacks.

  7. They were great shows in Wigan back then, a who's who of both the hunting world and bull world. Some serious dogs and serious owners in the bull ring... As i said in my earlier post, there were plenty of decent single handed bull blooded lurchers before Pye and in his lifetime BUT the Pye dog had made a name for himself by his actions, in the field... Nothing else, just by graft. And as i also said in my last post, i had/have little idea about any other named bull bloods in other parts of the country BUT in the North West, at that time, there was NOTHING that came close..!!
  8. Right, just watched a cracking little film... The King Of Staten Island, just turned to it by chance on Sky Cinema Comedy and so glad i did... So it's kind of a nothing film, about nobodies but just sometimes, you need a film with a down to earth storyline about everyday people... Last film i seen like this was Lost In Yonkers and i loved that one and the performances in it. Well it's been a while but i enjoyed this just as much. Low budget and funny but some great performances from a great cast, Marisa Tomei, Steve Buscemi and more. Seemed one of those films that actors need
