  1. No, with his feet, he sleeps upside down in caves.....
  2. May and Oddie sicken me.... Whatever they were in the past, bears no consequence to us now....
  3. Good 'ol Dicky, some classic performances, both in front and behind the camera.... And at 90, fair play, what a good innings, a life less ordinary, as they say..... It'll do Dave no favours for sure.... The 'Luvvies' will be distraught, dear boy....!
  4. Proof that good little un's come out of rescue centres... This is my daughter with her best canine friend Penny who, 15 years ago, my parents got from a rescue centre. They did want a smallish terrier type, liked the look of my old black dogs back then but like you Gnash, I knew a worker wouldn't be best suited and so they got the next best thing, a little terrier type, black too, that cost 'em £39.99 and was given a Penny change, hence the name... She has been the best little companion dog they could have wished for. Me Dad's 8 years dead now and that little dog has been both companion and g

  7. I got wed last year, never thought not to wear one. If I was working with machinery I may think different but I don't. Thing is, I am a hands on type so a nice shiny gold one would simply get battered, so I went for a Tungsten Carbide jobby, it looks well and I get loads of comments about it and it's damn near indestructible, all for the Princely sum of £19.00...!
  8. 'Original' is what I've found Gnash, there may be another, earlier but I can't find one. I think that one was made in S.A. in the 80's. I did a Google search and I think Amazon may have it.
  9. Yes Steve and i'd betcha that was where Plummer got that chapter from in the Nathan book. Though from the original Jock book, not the film. This film is much more accurate to the book, right down to Jock's docked tail. To be honest, I ain't seen it myself for years (I think because of it's content, they cleaned the tale up by making another film!) but I remember it being far far better than the sterilized version....
  10. This is the 'original' Jock Of The Bushvelt film..... Far more graphic and real than that later one.... If anyone's not seen this version, check it out, its excellent..!!!
  11. There were/are pockets of 'em all over the country, few albino's too.
  12. Plenty did back in the day....
  13. I work in the sports and leisure industry. The amount of overweight un active children that are now in your average school class is truly shocking. One recent thing that did bring it all home happened the other week.... I was on one site and Kevin, one of the managers there, was sat on reception working out rota's and was deep in thought. Now Kev ain't the happy go lucky sort, surly and intense at times, he's a very 'driven' sort of bloke, with a former sports background and now a passion for the outdoor life. Anyways, Kev's sat there engrossed, when this chubby kid of about 9 or 10 walk's u

  18. The Spike dog was Pye to his litter sister Otter, my mate owned him.

  20. It's been many years since I last went to Lowther, I'd have gone this year but for working. Keep the reports up folks, because it's one I'd like to get to next year.
